No need to upgrade. 3.6 RC3 is the same as the release code.

Thanks Bryan!

There is a problem with the logic in the any section. Using any here creates a logical OR so that that condition will be true in the db contains a down node OR and node named DEF OR a node named GHI. So basically that sesction will always be true. If you add an all to each any in the second section you should be ok.

That might be too complicated to diagnose here. Can you open a ticket so that we can investigate in depth? Please post the ticket number and results back here as well. Thanks!

We don't overwrite the actual status based upon a dependency. If they are reachable we will leave their status as up. We only check for a dependency when something seems to be down (no ping response, application not responding etc). In some cases an IT group may need to immediatly act on any down device, so they may choose…

Hi Lilly, Are the others 1250's also? Andy

Hi Joe, Sorry to hear of the issue you are having. On the SQL server, what is the drive configuration/RAID level? Andy
-
Sounds like your DB is a screaming machine. Have you looked and the disk queue length - I doubt it is an issue but is worth looking at just in case. How many NetFlow sources do you have on NTA? How many on Scrutinizer? What is you Orion element count?
-
It looks like the last condition (Trigger Alert when NONE of the following apply ) is embedded one level too low. Should be at the same level as the ones above it. Trigger alert when ALL of the following apply Interface speed is less than 4000000000 Full name contains Port-Channel Interface status is equal to Up Interface…

How long do you wait after taking the daemon down? The polling is not constant so you have to wait for the next test to happen. Can you manually test the FTP target file for access?
-
You can create a dynamic service group for unpluggeed status an apply it to interfaces. Here is what to do. * Go to Settings -> Manage Groups * Add a new Group and fill in description. Because the group will be dynamic, it is a good idea to document that in the description. * Click on Advanced and choose Show Best Status.…

The alert log should tell you what type of alert is causing the warning.

A couple of things I can think of - Is SNMP configured on the switches? Is there an ACL keeping you from getting to the switches via SNMP? If this stuff look good, I suggest doing a packet capture from the Orion server and see what is happening between Orion and a switch. Hope this helps - Andy

Hi Larry, I'm not familiar with that view. Are those UnDP polled? If so you might be able to alert off of the UnDP raw values.
-
There is no order feature in this resource but I'll mark this for the Product Manager to consider.

The NTA license needs to match the Orion license. You will need NTA for Orion NPM SLX.

That unit has 4 sensors and 5 variable speed fans and that can shut off if not needed. If the temp OID and a index value you could just choose one of those. What OID are you using?
-
It's the percent of ICMP ping replies over the specified time period
-
Check out this thread for problem #1. For #2 check the bandwidth for the OOB interface in the Interface Details view. If it is incorrect, click on Edit Interface and add a correct custom bandwidth.
-
Can you add a screen shot?
-
You can set a trigger delay. If an IF is flapping it will reset so not send multiples if the delay is long enough
-
That is something we are presently working. I know it's frustrating. One work around is to search from Google with the format Site:thwack.com searchterm

I think the best way to accomplish this is with the Failover Engine for SolarWinds and SQL log shipping for SQL. http://www.solarwinds.com/products/orion/scalability/failover.aspx
-
You have mixed element types - interfaces and nodes. What do you want to accomplish?
-
Hi mkempker, SNMP SET is not a SolarWinds product. I't is probably better address it in the General Network Management forum. There are several SNMP tools includedand you can test drive it for 21 days free. Andy See Greg's post below...
-
Which product are you using?

Ths is in chapter 26 of the Admin Guide http://www.solarwinds.com/support/Orion/docs/OrionAdministratorGuide.pdf
