Yes, 30 minutes is too long for most collectors to retain templates.
-
That is a symptom of the bidirectional export. Cisco does not identify directionality in the ASA export, so the solution would have to be a Cisco feature enhancement.
-
There is a set of "common" application ports that NTA ships to monitor. By going into NetFlow settings -> Application and Service Ports and choosing "Enable All Monitoring" you will be able to see data on these apps also.
-
I have not seen this issues yet. Can you open a ticket with support and I'll help get this resolved.

Obtaining the licence is a commercial thing. SolarWinds Scalability Engines – extend the scale of the Orion platform

Basic alerts are deprecated in 11.5. I would just use advanced alerts specific to the device type.
-
Here is a product blog on just that. Also, I would highly recommend getting IP SLA operations set up on the WAN links so that you can track the performance impact of reducing bandwidth.
-
We tried to implement this but the device agents are so buggy we couldn't get reliable data. This is a open bug with Cisco.
-
Also if you can export the alert template and post here I'll take a look at it.
-
Well, it looks like I have a system issue here. I tried on 2 other systems and it worked fine. The setting in under Web Console Settings

Yes, ICMP status is marked in the database. My quesstion is that then a child entity is down does Orion ping the parent for status or look at the last status record in the database. These are two different things.
-
Also note that you add reports from report writer as resources.
-
That was the all-inclusive "we've". But seriously, thanks for the assist Donald! :)

Hi Will, Thanks for the quick response! I rarely work in NCM so I am probably missing something obvious. How do I get to the Jobs interface? The AG says to nav to CONFIGS -> Jobs but there is no Jobs option on my CONFIGS tab. I'm on 7.1.1. Thanks, Andy
-
Have you eliminated the possibility of config or IOS diferences?
-
Does jswan's post answer this for you?
-
The responder is optional for this operation. The target node can be anything that responds to a TCP open request. If the target is not managed by Orion, add it as as external node then add it to IP SLAM. Sorry for the misinformation on this. Tomas is correct. As of now you need a Cisco device with a responder.
-
There is no path to migrate monitoring configuration or data from Orion to Toolset. What you could do is to manually place your critical items in Toolset NPM ahead of time and if Orion goes down, switch on Toolset NPM.
-
Which portion are you looking for an update on? The feature request?
-
I should probably already know this, but is there a place besides the release notes where I can find the known bugs for web alert manager?
-
Not today. MPLS aware NetFlow requires templates and we don't support that now. You can only get MPLS NetFlow data if you are on an LSR. Are you in an environment where you can send data from the LSR to a NetFlow collector. I would like to understand your use case better. Andy
-
Our APM developer corrected me, the templates are in the database until you export them. The directory I pointed you to has the shipped out of the box templates.
-
So, if you guys could choose a load order, what would you choose?
-
I'll mark this for a PM to comment on.

Making the change to RAID 10 will make a big difference. I'd also like to know what you find with solid state storage. Kind of like you are at the craps table and we're all looking over your shoulder. ;)

Hi stingcb, I am currently creating PA specific custom pollers. Can you share the list of recommended OIDs? I have posted a couple of pollers here and here. I'd really like to look over that list and see what else we should be polling. Thanks!
-
Hi Justin, I suggest opening a ticket with support. Andy

Oppps - I see that the suppression would be not true to alert. Read it too fast. I would take out one of the custom property critera and see if the other is OK. This will let you know which one is not working.

Dan - let us know if this works. Andy
