Hi Firewall, ICMP is not a reliable protocol and is given low preference on most networks. As your network gets busy ICMP packets can get dropped. When ICMP is used for near real-time monitoring the chances of loosing packets goes up and so you will get false positives for a server down. For these reasons I don't recommend…

To clarify, be careful with the allignment of condition groups. I added this line to show how the alert cannot ever trigger because it requires the down node to have both node names. For the reset, can you just use the default "Reset when condition is no longer true"?

Hee is a Cisco Forum post rerrering to an sc0 transitioning to higher than normal discards. Is this what you are seeing? https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/208088;jsessionid=FC1A297C2B092721B459B2ED3F973162.node0?decorator=print&displayFullThread=true

It's not a feature today but in on the roadmap for a future release.

Hi dfollis, I would have answered sooner but I was on vacation. Cisco does dominate for sure but that does not mean your solution isn't valid. If the system supports true sFlow we can accept the exports. sFlow samples flows by default so it will lower the total export load. I usually don't recommend that any flow exporter…

I can do that but it will create some troubleshooting and manual intervention work when a redirect changes. Is there an FR for proxy settings?
-
Rats - We use this for internal testing only with locked down accounts.

The cisco PRI MIB is a bit buggy. Can you see that PRI interface in the NPM? If so, you can just build an alert as ChrystalIT says. If it does not, you will have to build a UnDP poller first then alert off of that poller. If you do create the poller, make sure to ckick on Advanced and indicate that it is an interface…

I agree on the benefits of having this ability. Seeing that IP SLA can do a whole bunch of things, what 5 to 6 of the probe types other than VoIP related one would you be most interested in.
-
These are all on the roadmap except ICPIF. Do y'all use MOS and ICPIF together?

Here is a Cisco paper on IP SLA use of UDP 1967 through firewalls. http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/707/cisco-amb-20090325-sip-and-udp.shtml

Thanks for the reply, Richard. I deleted and reinstalled the job engine but the issue keeps coming back. I'll repost when we get this solved. Andy

So, to clarify for my feature enhancement log, you would like reports showing application usage as a percent of available b/w, used b/w or both?
-
This appears to be a bug. Can you open a ticket via http://www.solarwinds.com/support/ticket/serviceticket.aspx And we will get it into the system. Please reference this thread.
-
Heck no - I gave you point for answering it! :)

Here is the email notification
-
I see. Is there and path forward with a java form?
-
Yes, I had a Homer moment there.
-
I believe this is an existing feature request. I'll mark it for a PM to see.
-
All - Please open tickets so we can see if there is a common issue we need to address.
-
You also have the ability to have the router team build the operations and then give the operation number. From there you can add them to the IP SLAM product. This way you only need read SNMP.
-
Could be the machines going to "power save" mode causing the port to return to default speed.
-
There is a product feature request forum the PMs keep track of.... http://thwack.solarwinds.com/forums/53/product-feature-requests/57/orion-network-performance-monitor-feature-requests/

Have you configured NetFlow on the devices? The server won't send netflow but will show up as an endpoint. Here are a couple of good resources for accomplishing that. For the ASA - http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1264 Fot NetFlow in general -…
-
This actually places it in the Custom Properties resource. Does that work for you or do you need it in the Node Details resource?
-
Also see this paper on 6500/4500 NetFlow

Good to hear all is OK!

Here is a good posting on this. http://www.sqlteam.com/article/moving-the-tempdb-database

Please open a ticket if you have not already done so. Thanks
