Thanks guys! I had a derpful day Friday. I finally woke up and used the compliance reports.

I'm a little confused with this answer. The use case is that the primary poller has failed. How do we make the additional pollers link with the secondary? This environment is not using FoE.
-
No - it won't work with that switch. See the Cisco site for config instructions specific to your switch model and IOS. Andy

I second the warning about using the suppression tab. The problem is that suppression conditions are always evaluated independently of the trigger condition and kills the trigger. So in your example if any node in the entire database has "SAN" in its name then the trigger would be suppressed. The alert would never fire no…

Yeah - Looks like nobody has built one yet.

That is a lot of elements for a 5 minute poll period. You might want to prioritize the elements you poll and poll less critical elements less often.

What are you tring to accomplish?

Hi Dallium, Sound a bit convoluted at this point. Support looks like the best option at this point. Andy
-
Hi njoylif, This normally due to an invalid customized view added. The fix is to go in as admin and return the views in NetFlow to the default set by deleting any custom ones. Andy

Sedmo, What do you figure on this one? I'm stumped. Andy

If you are on Orion 9.X, VOIP monitor requires SP2
-
Also it is a good idea to backup your database before doing this type of query

fritch -I'm sorry that your support experience was not a good one. I'll forward this on to support as we do appreciate all feedback, good or not so good. Also thanks for posting the solution back to the thread. Shawn - have you tried running config wiz as fritch suggests? Andy

Does this do the trick? (From APM Admin Guide) Restarting Windows Services with an Alert Action You can use the alert trigger action "Execute program" to restart a Windows service that is down. Orion APM restarts the service by running an included program named APMServiceControl.exe . When given the Component ID number of…

I wish we could use the app template method but the monitors vary by node. I'll check into using the SDK. Thanks!

What platform are you gateways running on?

The Standard Toolset comes with 90 days of installation support, so you can call support and we'll help you with this.

Here is a screenshot of that trigger category.

Rim, Take a look art this documentation. It will help you to understand what is causing the gaps and what you can do to help the situation. The best place to start looking is the SQL server's disk write queue lenght. If this metric is more that single digits there is an issue with the SQL server disk access.…

You can change the All Nodes resouce using the Edit buton to Status at level 1 and None for level 2 and 3. Here is a report for Nodes in Unknown Status.

Brian, Look for something mid 2009. Andy

Lastly, in the alert you can set that the condition has to exist for a specified amount of time before it will trip. I would use this method. It is found at the bottom of the trigger condition tab.

Hey - Byron has 600 posts!

Check the Content Exchnage section for a report you can use or edis as needed. Once you have the report you can publish it as a resource on the web console. This Technical Reference should get you there. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/UnderstandingOrionReportWriter.pdf

Matt, We have SAM, NPM, NCM, UDT, VNQM, and NTA 3.1x. Can the same be done in this? Thx - Andy
-
I checked with the NTA team. The are backed up with a few cases but will get to this when they can. Andy

Actually, Steve's post makes sense. The issue now is that a parent may be polled then the children. This has been corrected in 10.3.

It is just a one-time wirte so if you can do it over v2 (as Mav suggest) it is a relitively safe operation.
