Hi jagle, A couple of things here to keep in mind. * Netflow has its own set of retention settings. Go tou NetFlow Settings from the NTA Summary page to set. * NetFlow will be the lion's share of the data , as you say. I would think about allocating 300-400GB to have room for growth. * SQL for NTA running on a VM is not…

Cool - Thanks again!

Hi Scott, I have reached to dev and a fellow info dev friend for help this one. Stay tuned. Andy

Can you provide a link to the information you are referring to?
-
Keep in mind that the test button only tests the alert actions, not the alert logic or the actual state of the specified device.
-
Thanks Brian. We're looking into it. Andy

Sorry, my mistake. Not SQL but the MS server trap receiver does not support SNMPv3 traps. SNMPv3 polling is OK. You can configure the device to send SNMPv3 traps but MS server OS won't handle them.

Hi Jon and John, I'll alert the PM and support to provide some guidance. Andy

Coffee! ;)

Please open a support ticket on this. We don't want to post PW retireval info on a forum. BR - Andy

Wallaby - was this helpful?
-
It looks like this maybe more complicated than what we can solve here. Can you open a ticket so that support can look at this?

"i had tried the downloaded template and also the ones that I had created, both having the same configurations but the downloaded ones are having more stuff. I had put the downloaded template on the same server, it seems like the utilzation is low........" Hi oithim, Does this mean your issue is solved or is there still a…

One more note - I did find some references to write SSD times being slower than disks. If this is the case you don't want to go to SSD. The manufacturers demo reads and call it fast read/write but they don't directly demo writes.

So you need to check only for a login prompt from routers, switches and servers? I'm not an APM expert but I'd like to prompt the APM comunity on this one. APM guru's - any assit is welcome. Andy

Just to close the loop on this thread KB on the issue below. http://support.solarwinds.com/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=1269

Hi Andrew and jeremiah, Your not alone being confused by this one. I'm far from an expert on WMI but here is what I have found. WMI has Raw counters and formatted counters. The formatted ones are the "cooked" counters. I have included a screen shot of the SolarWinds WMI free tool WMI browser. I filtered by "Formattted…

The 1000v has very spefic steps to properly configure NetFlow. I did this in the beta program - it was a bit convoluted but worked in the end. I think the only supported exporting IF is mgmt0 or something like that.
-
Hi Bryan, I know they are working this in support and dev. Andy

What I was thinking is that if the ASA is addable using the inside interface that would suffice for the flows on the outside interface as well.
-
Cool - Glad you like it!
-
Hard tp tell what is causing that. Please open a ticket on this one.
-
OK - Thanks

Gocav, If you have time, Id like to go over some data display options and get your opinion. Andy

Riverbed makes a good netflow distributor.
-
Phillip, Our APM doc dude and the dev manager looked at this one and it looks like that best path is to open a ticket with support. Considering you are able to browse the service it does not look like a basic WMI issue, which is what the Troubleshooting Guide addresses. Andy
-
Please do open a case on this. Thanks - Andy

Hi freeman, We leverage the IPSLA capabilities of Cisco routers to simulate voice traffic and report on delay, jitter and MOS. So as long as you have Cisco routers at VoIP sites you will get site-to-site VoIP quality stats. The call manager has nothing to do with that part. We use SNMP to monitor the call manager. If you…

I am writing a Tech Ref on NOC Feature and practices - I will include this if possible. I other community folks have a solution please post away.

That is a good approach to qualifying only the volumes of interest. The vol numbers are in bytes if you decide to use absolute numbers.
