Hi Chandru, This really sounds like NetFlow data you are after. Are you using Orion NTA? You can alert on bandwidth in Orion then look in NTA to see top talkers, apps, and conversations and more. Andy

It's been my experience that you can see the effects of transatory peaks in WAN traffic using 5 minute polling. WAN circuits will normally peak and recover very quickly, so catching every short peak adds little value in understanding the overall health of the WAN service. You may be able to demonstrate this by polling one…

I see. UnDP won't be helpful with CBQoS as you have to do some joins it won't support. Orion NetFlow Traffic Analyzer monitors CBQoS queues before and after the policy is applied. Don't know if that is what you are after though. Andy

For APM, there are interface and application implicit children to nodes. What the choices allow is the ability to show the ICMP status of the node and the status of the child you choose. The result for choosing Show worst status (Interface Only) is that if an interface is down there will be a small red square in the lower…

I would use the the top 2 lines of aboulton's alert, then use varbinds in the alert message to dynamically identify the volume name, trigger condition that fired the alert, the server, and the volume letter. If you use the volume name in the trigger you will have to add every volume one by one. Andy McBride Director,…

It is possible to have things other than ICMP declare a device down but because the availability enging uses ICMP, it will show as up in the next polling cycle if it is reachable. I would try removing the timers. The reboot condition will fire anytime the condition is true.

Please open a ticket for this one.

That is a feature of NPM 10.1, but it won't aggregate it for NTA since that is keyed off of actual interface indexes.
-
True - we show data transfered, not rate.

Sounds like a MIB issue on the 1250's. Can you do a MIB walk on them?
-
I took a look at your case. It looks like a memory issue related to the service. We are now testing a new version aimed at performance and stability improvements. This should address the issue you are seeing. The release will be out early next quarter. Andy

Unnplugged is an artificial status so it won't actually disable the interface. If you plug something the interface will transition to up and the group icon will turn green. You could also creat an advanced alert to alert on an unplugged interface going into up status.

The best way to see what is going on, and change it so that the message is not vague is to go into Advanced Alert Manager from Start -> All Programs -> SolarWinds Orion -> Alerting, Reporting and Mapping. Click on configure alerts and you will see a list of you alerts. The ones checked are active. Look through those and…

Can you open a ticket with support?
-
Don't have that and we actually can't share estimated dates to the public.
-
Do you see this out of the box alert in your advanced alert screen? You should be able to use that one as is. Just make sure it is enabled.
-
This might be related to the previously noted issue but I'm not sure. If you open a ticket support will be able to get to the bottom of it. Andy

That configuration is not supported. Web does not install on an additional poller.
-
How many interfacesare exporting flows and what type of interfaces are they?
-
Is the demo installed on a production server with the production modules? If so I think you will need to contact Customer Service to get it sorted.
-
We don't expose the class map or policy map. I can pass this along to the Product Manager as a feature enhancement request.
-
Can't talk to dates at this time
-
It is a v3 SP in pre-release. If you would like to apply it please contact support.

We are examining the technology now. Not on the road map as it's not clear what the uptake of this is/will be and what use cases if fulfills. If y'all have any use cases to share I'm listening.

There are a couple of different ways to approach this. The None and Not all booleans are actually a bit screwy so you could try replacing the None witn Not All. I know that does not makes sense logically but because the way those 2 options are implemented it may work. The second option is to assign a Custom Property to the…

Here us a Tech Ref on Advanced alerts.

Sorry about that - my speed reading got the best of me. We are looking at adding SNMP v3 support but nothing firm to convey at this point.
-
I'll get this documented on our side. To make sure I'm clear on this, in the end you needed your systems on SIM 7 and HPIM 9.0.0.0. Is this correct?

I think you are actually on the right track. It looks like these are extensible (configurable) UCD MIB tables. I suggest contacting Barracuda to see how they have implemented these. UCD-SNMP-MIB::extResult.1 (input q) UCD-SNMP-MIB::extResult.2 (output q) UCD-SNMP-MIB::extResult.3 (bounce q)
