DirtySouth, the good news is we have found the issue and resolved it. The bad news is, we will not be releasing a HF for this and this fix won't be available until the next release of NPM later this year.

Unfortunately, the ASA does not have this command (or an equivalent) implemented. On a somewhat related note, make sure your template timeout rate is set to 1 minute or you may see dropped flows (flow-export template timeout-rate 1). This will make sure the ASA sends a template every 1 minute instead of every 30 minutes.…

Spiky, yes, you can unselect VLANs so that capacity is only calculated for physical interfaces. As ALKSupport mentioned, this has some other effects that we plan to fix in the future. Mav

For the existing customers on this thread, have you tried the UDT 2.0 RC? We've made some improvements in the latest release on how we poll layer 3 information. If that still does not help, I definitely would like to gather more information to see what we can do to help you guys. Mav

Thanks wvitalec, our goal certainly wasn't for this to happen. After you get a chance to use the new web based CPE please let me know if there are still issues. It's not the same as we aren't able to bring back the old Win32 app, but you should be able to do what you need without extra effort.

To update this thread, unfortunately this has not been fixed as of NPM 10.2.

I assume you have seen this document. Unfortunately, if those commands do not work, then IPAM will not work. If you can't run the commands, then there is likely a bug in that IOS version. The best way to resolve this is to open a TAC case or upgrade to a newer version of IOS. This site says that the command was introduced…

ttyson, It could be another process or product that is generating these name requests. When you run 'netstat -bo' from the command line of your Orion server, do you see these requests attached to a specific process? What SolarWinds products are you running on this server besides NPM and NTA? Also, I assume you aren't…

We have made some changes as of NTA 3.9 and NPM 10.2 that actually make this scenario slightly better. Basically, NPM can keep track of multiple IPs of a node. NTA can do a lookup to see if the IP exists but isn't the primary management IP. It's could be a bit tricky to setup if NPM didn't automatically pick up the other…

MCMurphy, What version of code are you running on the 3CDSG8? Maybe there is a bug with that device? When you do a full walk of the device, does it show you other OIDs or do they all return with unspecified? Mav

Do you see any messages in the NTA Event log? For example, receiving flows from an unmanaged interface? The node needs to be managed in NPM with the same interface (IP) that the flows are coming from. I assume the port is correct (listening on the same port that the packets are being sent on). The other thing to check is…

Ok thanks for the additional details. For special devices like load balancers we would like to monitor these based on the type of device they are and provide more relevant monitoring (instead of just treating most nodes the same). If / when we solved this problem that is how I would expect to do it (as opposed to adding…

When y'all say that you don't want to see the endpoint show up on the trunk, do you mean in search, WatchList, on the Port Details resource or anywhere at all? The reason I ask is because there are times when you will only know that a device is active on your network because it is plugged in to the trunk port. For example,…

smcdonald, I am able to reproduce the issue with the tab on the IP Address Details view so we will look at this bug. I'm not sure what to tell you about some devices having history and others not. Can you open a ticket with support about this? Mav

More information in case other people have problems with this. When a CBQoS policy is changed, those updates (name changes or new policies) will be updated on the next poll of the device. The default poll interval for CBQoS data is 5 minutes. However, if you have only recently added CBQoS to a node, it’s possible it will…

patriot, What exactly do you mean by "enough SNMP interfaces in the database"? Are you talking about standard interfaces that happen to be MPLS links, or are you wanting to poll specific metrics related to MPLS? If specific SNMP metrics, we have a long standing request to add UnDPs to maps. Unfortunately, we still haven't…

Jeff, I'm sorry about your frustration and you certainly have good cause for it here. I can assue you, development has been working on your case after your Sales Engineer escalated it. I know there has been a lot of back and forth without much progress. Based on a quick synch with development, this appears to be a bug /…

This is a mis-characterization of my statement. I said we shipped Topology with Layer 2 support only, no Layer 3 support, this was by design. I certainly respect your opinion that you would rather have waited to have both Layer 2 and Layer 3 topology at the same time, but many customers receive significant benefit in…

When you bulk add subnets, there is no option to not add the IP addresses. When you add a single subnet, there is a check box that allows you to not add the addresses.

Thanks for the responses. I've logged the feature request.

Ciscokid, This is all good feedback. One of the things we pride ourselves on at SolarWinds is actively listening to our community and incorporating the feedback directly into the products. Please see my "What we are working on next" post to get a better idea of what we are working on for the next release and how we use…

Good feedback Matt and Rick. We are currently working on being able to delete a port. This should be resolved soon. Regarding deleting a node, if we split this function out and when you deleted the node it only deleted it from UDT and you were required to go to Node Management to delete it from "core" would that be what…

We are looking at several additional features from Cisco and ISC DHCP including DHCP snooping, DHCP source guard etc. However, there are other features that have a higher priority than these advanced DHCP features. For example, duplicate subnets and subnet level delegation are much higher priority than expanding…

Our licensing is based on monitored ports. If you are not monitoring a port, we will not show you information about what is connected to it (that would defeat the purpose of our licensing model). I can say we will continue to iron out these few issue so that UDT behaves as you would expect. The items we have planned should…

networkguy09, This is definitely something we hear. We are considering addressing this use case in NCM or providing a tool in Toolset. As you are aware, we don't currently have any solution for this. Just out of curiosity, when you make these changes, do all of your ACLs have the same name? If so, it may be possible to…

amnnesse, this is certainly interesting but it is not in our immediate plans to address. We will continue to keep an eye on the number of customer requests for this feature. Mav

This is a relatively old post and there have been several changes made to Orion. However, this is still a good rule of thumb. An element is a node, interface, or volume. The license details page gives you a break down of how many you have. Mav

Tim, I don't believe this documentation exists for any of our products. I've sent a link to this thread to our InfoDev team so they can comment. Our performance testing with UDT has shown that installing UDT on top of an existing environments (such as the one you described) will not have a large negative impact. Every…
