  • ctopaloglu, I've noted this as a feature request. We can look at this as part of our user delegation work. Does anyone else have this requirement? This is the first time I've heard this request. Mav
  • Network_Guru, We are working on making the import scenarios more flexible and this is great information! Also, we are going to make some improvements for people who need to manage a large number of subnets. This includes searching properties as well as increasing the number of subnets in the list. Until we can get this…
  • jon, Are there specific alerts you would like to see? We are always looking to make life easier on our users. Also, if you would like more detail on the Top Talker alerts, I recommend refering to the NTA Admin Guide - specifically, Chapter 7. www.solarwinds.com/.../NetFlowAdministratorGuide.pdf Mav
  • Donald, we would certainly like to get there, but adding support for CDP is the first step and that is what we are focused on now. Once we have the better topology, obviously it makes sense to show it in a graphical format for users. Mav
  • timsilverline, There was a bug in NTA 3.7 related to unmonitored traffic that was not TCP/UDP. This should be fixed in the next version. We will have a Release Candidate available shortly that will help with this. I will add you to the RC list. If anyone else would like to be added to the RC list, please let me know. Mav
  • superdave, You should find 1.7.1 in your customer portal. If you download and install this service release, it should fix your issues. Please let me know if it is not there. Thanks, Mav
  • jbehrmann, we have a fix for this we would like you to test. Support should be reaching out to you soon to provide the details. I apologize for the back and forth on this, but you should have resolution soon. Mav
  • This is a great suggestion and unfortunatley not something you can accomplish now I've logged a feature request for it (internal 83959). As you mentioned, one way to do this is to create a custom view for each group and add your map to that specific view. However, this is a poor work around and won't scale well. Regarding…
  • As I mentioned earlier, we are looking at expanding this support in a future release but I can't provide any more details. If you are interested in monitoring Call Quality, please take this survey so we can better understand your requirements. Most customers should have recently received an email requesting feedback.…
  • We hear you guys and hopefully will be able to make this better in the future. In the meantime, it is possible to add custom properties to subnets, just not through import. If you create the custom properties you can then do a bulk update directly through SQL to merge your spreadsheet data with IPAM. I realize this isn't…
  • You should definitely open a case per Steve's recommendation. When you say you cannot pull any MAC addresses, what exactly do you mean? If you click on the Node name and go to the Node Details page, are all of the ports listed? Do you see any MAC addresses there? Does the UDT Job Status page have a job created for the…
  • A quick test would be to take one of the IPs that isn't resolving correctly and attempt to resolve it from the server (with nslookup or ping by name). If that resolves correctly but UDT does not, there might be a problem with UDT.
  • Thanks Dan, those are both very great points. At this time, we have no plans to expand beyond monitoring for Address Management. As always, we'll continue to monitor this request.
  • fribert, This sounds like a bug, but we can't be sure unless we gather more information. Do you own the toolset or are you evaluating it? If you own it, please open a support case and reference this thread. If you are evaluating, let me know and we'll work with you. Mav
  • I can reassure everyone that you are getting our attention, however, this is still a problem. I don't know how helpful this is, but it is something we would like to improve soon. The problem still exists in NPM 10.2. We recognize this and we'll fix it, but I can't say when exactly (don't worry though, you won't have to pay…
  • Unfortunatley I cannot provide a more specific date. Please see this blog post on our policy about roadmaps and dates You will need to install IPAM regardless of when the EOC integration is available. EOC ties together seperate products such as NPM and APM, but those products must still be installed and configured. If you…
  • timsilverline, Are you still having a problem with this? When you change the resolution settings it can take a while for NTA to catch up and resolve the old records. If you are still not seeing any domains, you should call support and open a case to investigate further. Mav
  • Don, in that scenario, UDT should be reporting that your computer is directly connected to the switchport that you phone is connected to. Obviously this is still not 100% accurate, but it would be much better than what you are experiencing today. As I understood it, all of the issues with computers plugged in to IP phones…
  • Unfortunatley, there is no nice way to delete ports at present from UDT (without deleting the node from Orion, changing the UDT config file to remove the ifType for VLANs, then adding the node back in Orion and rediscover ports). We’re looking at adding a delete port option soon.
  • One more thing, it sounds like the "new" hosts are being monitored via SNMP and not through the VMware API and the "old" nodes are being monitored via the API. When a node is monitored with the VMware API, then the checkboxes don't actually do anything (sorry for the confusion there). Make sure you have assigned VMware…
  • Has anyone opened a support case about this? There isn't anything that should have broken this in 10.2 for IE8. For those of you having problems in IE8, did you try with other browser such as Chrome or FF? Do you experience the same issue? Mav
  • Spudnet, does the bulk edit option not work for you because of the large number of subnets?
  • JakeE, can you provide more detail about why you say you can no longer display CPs as a column in Manage Nodes or sort in the group by? In the below images you can see where I can select a CP, add it to the columns, and group by. Maybe you are talking about something else but please let me know.
  • Bsulli, Unfortunately we are not able to reproduce this issue in our lab. These other cases were related to UDT so if you don't have that installed I would very much like to get additional information about what is going on in your environment. What other open source monitoring tools are you using? It could be due to how…
  • If you see the exact same ingress and egress traffic on an interface, that means that you are not filtering or otherwise blocking any traffic. What went in the interface, is exactly the same as what came out. This is expected unless you have CBQoS or an access list preventing traffic from traversing the interface.
  • cn_net, we have an SDK for Orion (thwack.com/.../) but currently have no plans for extending this to Toolset. As Jason said, what is it you are trying to accomplish?
  • Ok, great feedback Donald. I'll let Brandon or Francois chime in on this. Glad you like our UDT watchlist :-)
  • Can one of your elaborate on exactly what you are trying to accomplish here? IPAM can collect information by the following methods: scanning DHCP servers for status, running a ping sweep of a network, neighbor discovery using ARP tables, and manually. Obviously if you cannot talk to those networks from the IPAM server,…
  • Craig, you aren't using SNMPv3 are you? I just want to eliminate some weird permission issue. Assuming that is not your problem, the next step is to look at what the device is telling us. Can you download net-snmp and run the following commands? Change the file name to each device and I'll contact you off the forums to…
