Andrew, Are you talking about these graphs? Here are the resources you should have on this view. If there is something else you are asking for, please let me know. Thanks, Mav

Great feedback Jerry, this is definitely the right place for those comments. Regarding the DNSMASQ support. This is the first request I've heard for it. I heard ISC more often, but still rather rarely. Regarding your comments on multitenancy, this is something we are aware of. Feedback like this is extremely useful in…

gibjim01, these are all great requests. The search enhancement has been requested a few times before but the graphical space usage is a new one. This is a great idea and I will get it logged. Regarding your NCM integration, we are working on something even better to help solve this problem, stay tuned... Deltona and…

Thanks Dentifrice, I've documented this request.

justinh, I would be happy to talk with you more about IPv6 offline. As far as "focus on planning", that means we are more focused on getting your IPv6 subnets directly into IPAM as opposed to actively scanning the network or using Neighbor Discovery to find devices. This is something we are interested in but are not…

mandg, Unfortunately, I cannot give timeframes. However, I can say, we are still early in the planning phase for the next release. I have made a note that you are interested in the next version and will invite you take part in certain steps in the development process (previews, Betas, Release Candidates, etc.). Mav

gibjim01, This is a good request. Currently, we aren't actively working on offering more options around alerting. However, this is definitely a good feature request and I am tracking it.
-
Matt, I've updated the post to include a little more high level information. Also, I will be reaching out to you soon for more direct feedback. Thanks!

Nous ne supportons pas les contrôleurs 3Com (3Com network equipment). Si vous parlez de la gestion des points d'accès 3Com autonomes, il peux fonctionner dépendant des MIBs supportés.

There are a few ways to address these concerns. * You can use the Change Control mechanism in NCM to be alerted when a configuration changes (leveraging SNMP traps and syslogs). * You can use UDT to track what is connected. * You could just create an alert for interface status UP AND interfaces with a custom property and…

Unfortunately this is correct, VMware dropped support for SNMP. Of course you can always manage the OS with SNMP, but most don't report much information via SNMP. If you just want to track location and contact, that might give you the information you need.
-
Good feedback. Do you use PAT or NAT? What devices are doing these translations, Cisco ASAs? If we ran a job that pulled the NAT table and updated the IP Address with the corresponding NAT address, would that be sufficient? Mav

George, in case you didn't see the recent SAM beta post there is some good news! SAM has now added support for Hyper-V. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/solarwinds-community/product-blog/blog/2012/06/04/sam-52-beta-is-now-available--can-you-say-hyper-v As part of the work the SAM team did, we are working on shipping…

What exactly are you looking to accomplish here? To add a DHCP server, the server must be a node in NPM. Or do you mean, see the IP Addresses of the Nodes in Orion and add those? There are several options for importing but not directly synching with NPM if I understand your question.
-
The license for NTA is based on the size of your NPM managed environment, not the number of flows being received or devices sending flows. I am happy to talk with any offline in more detail about this if you would like.
-
RJager, this might be caused by some things that were changed behind the scenes. You might need to reset the auto-complete from your browser for this page and tell it to save the new credentials. When I tried to do this it was for the admin account with no password (because it's in my lab) so that's a special case. Mav

NTA 3.10.0 is now in RC. For more information, visit the NTA RC space. http://thwack.solarwinds.com/groups/orion-netflow-traffic-analyzer-release-candidate

Tomaz, unfortunately NBAR support is not on our immediate radar. It's something that is interesting and I would love to hear more about what use cases you would like to cover with this. Mav

For ICMP Echo we only poll, store and display RTT values. Numbers of successes or failures are not available in IPSLAM.
-
Thanks for the feedback everyone. There are some specific use cases where duplicate subnets are desirable. Most of those involve using IPAM as a passive address management system. For example, if an MSP has customers on duplicate internal addresses, we would allow you to create the duplicate space and give the subnet a…

By default we will poll for the most data. If the device is capable of returning values, we'll poll for them. Unfortunately, it's a large mix of what can return values and what can just return status (and some devices that don't return anything at all). As Michal said, for Cisco devices we poll CISCO-ENVMON-MIB…

We have long term plans to do a lot of work with the alerts, but not for 10.4 and probably not the release immediately after either. When you say "nest the listing" what exactly do you mean? Are you talking about the active alerts resources or the Manage Advanced Alerts page?
-
That is correct. If you do a discovery and it finds an IP address of a node that is already managed, it won't add that address as a new device. We will only poll one address at a time and you can easily change which address is being polled. We also introduced a new resource that lists all of the IPs for a node. Try it out…

Fred, We cannot commit to timeframes but I would be happy to speak with you offline to provide more information. Mav

There was another post in the Alert forum about monitoring state of each of the devices in the pair by monitoring cvsChassisRole (1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.388.1.2.2.1.2). Does this help?

You will find the SDK in the Orion Family -> SDK forum. You can get to the post with the information you need by clicking here:

Ross, Do the other Optimization percentages match what your management console is reporting? Does this appear to be a transient condition or does it stay at that incorrect negative percentage? We are just reading the values via SNMP so we are returning what the device is reporting. I will check to make sure those values…

Yep, this is definitely something interesting, as everyone knows though, I can't comment on delivery timelines or expectations. Mav
