And I just received the 'well that is going to be hard to do' from our SN team.. so back to the HTTPS monitor. Thanks for pointing this out and hopefully we can setup our integration sooner than later. - Dave
-
Oh nice! I was trying to setup an HTTPS monitor but kept running into some odd issues. The integration module makes sense - if SW can't talk to SN then there must be an issue. Thanks!

Yup we use AD authentication for SolarWinds and my AD guy said that passing authentication between these domains should not be a problem.
-
Yup saw that. I have been over as much of the documentation that I can find and made notes. Hoping to find any gotchas that aren't covered in the documents.
-
So I have something goofy going on. The sites are unmanaged but they still generate an alert BUT the alert never goes out.. so I probably have something else going on here as well.
-
Yup that is exactly what I could not figure out yesterday. Sometimes my brain just locks up and stops working. Thank you!!
-
I will give those a try and see what comes up. Thank you.
-
We updated everything to 2019.4
-
I am going to give this a try tomorrow morning and if I have an issue I will let you know. Thanks!!! -Dave

Case #1288416

Yes I went through and manually ran database maintenance from the main polling engine. If you go to Notifications it lists that SAM maintenance is overdue. I spoke to two different people at SolarWinds and they said it was a licensing issue. I also had them monkeying around on my server and now besides that one across the…

Ohhhh nice. I am on a project to cut down and clean up our Domain Controller sprawl and was looking for some kind of report to figure out what is what with all of them. I can use this as a starting point and adjust from there. Thanks!!!
-
I set this up as a report using a custom SWQL query and it does work. I am trying to figure out how to export as an Excel Doc. I tried to add &DataFormat=Excel at the end of the report but it still comes up as a PDF.
-
I am going to look into something like this tomorrow so we can have a better grasp at what is going on VPN wise. I will need to remember - Don't Overdo it.
-
Thanks! Very timely and needed right now.
-
I will second Dawn's question.
-
Worked with support and they passed this along - https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Delete-or-move-SolarWinds-log-files. We setup a monthly scheduled task to clean out all of the old logs.

I am hoping someone on this thread might be able to assist on some questions I have on this. 1. Do you just add this to an existing alert or do you create new ones for just the teams alerting? 2. I followed the instructions above and I get an HTTP error. I am hoping someone might have some tips I can use to troubleshoot my…

Thank you for posting this. I have been setting up Node Custom Property alerting and this post helped me figure out what the Custom Property I was looking for. I found it via the database manager and your tip above helped me figure out the rest. Thank you!!!
-
I am in the process of setting this up but my variable is wrong so the alert will not go out. I tried ${email} and ${N=SwisEntity;M=Node.CustomProperties.email} and still no email goes out. What am I missing? Dave

Did you depreciate support yet for older versions of SQL? We have some 2008 and older SQL that we monitor with DPA and one of my DBAs wanted me to check to make sure they will still work with DPA monitoring. Thanks
-
Thanks! We are just going to update it now and I wanted to make sure the installer just updated DPA - not everything else.
-
I am assuming I can upgrade just DPA and not the rest of my Solarwinds Modules? Just want to check before I think about updating DPA Thanks!
-
Thank you for this article. I found other ones that discussed the engine ID but did not give out the format like you did below. Thanks again!!
-
Thank you the SAM by node is exactly what I needed.
-
I stumbled upon this looking for how to add NetPath to some of my views. But adding a searchable PerfStack to my main Orion summary page is AMAZING!! Thank you.
-
This looks really cool. I will have to give this a look over and set it up here. Thanks again for some more SWQL fun!

So amazing things happen when one of the Infrastructure Engineers points a switch to Orion. One thing I was missing was the node was set to send logs to Orion BUT the node did not know that. Once we pointed logging to Orion and then added the node to Orion this page propagated. Our other issue is we were looking at the…

That makes sense. I am getting someone to point a switch to SW and see if that does anything.

jvb - I opened a ticket but I am still at a loss at how this works. I went back and removed nodes so I am only dealing with 4 to try and make this easy. Is this where the logs are or should be? This seems like it should be really simple. Or is it here? Or is this it? This is my last response from support -
