would any of the issues with Orion cause issues with DPA? Now that is doing some really odd things as well.
-
Thanks. I will see if this works or not.

I have yet to schedule it because after the buffering fix things seemed stable until yesterday. The alerts that came through this morning after the server reboot were due to the fact that Orion stopped sending out alerts yesterday around 11 AM so it sent out these 'cached' alerts once it came back up. The nightly reboot…

You should be able to integrate it with 2018.2 HF6. I am currently running DPA 2019.4 and Orion 2018.2 HF3. Just do not run any updates.

Thank you. The little voice in my head said this to me this morning so I must be starting to be one with the Solarwinds.
-
The issue is I have this alert as a general alert for all my devices so your suggestion to go into the individual server is great. Thanks!
-
You can either deploy a Solarwinds agent to the server - which is usually easier to do but sometimes the agent can do goofy things. Or you can use WMI to monitor as well but will take a few more steps to do. 1. You will have to create a local account on the server with local admin access. 2. Take the account you created…

I am going to deploy the agents there are some parts of IIS that I need to monitor and I also need to monitor the uptime of websites running on these servers.
-
I will try that again and see what they say.

I have been asking this question for some time and no one has been able to explain it. Thank you!!
-
Agreed!! If you have active maintenance it should be included and once off active maintenance you lose it.

Thank you!!!! This will give me plenty to start working on. For the message search string will it search for a specific user in the message or will I need to do something so it will search the message? Thank you!! Oh and serena you didn't give me enough time to mark it as answered.

Oh yeah helped me out quite a bit and also a bunch of those are what I picked before receiving all this input so I must have been on the right track. I had not read the ebooks before and they were very enlightening! Thanks again!!

Last week I updated all things Solarwinds to .Net 4.7.2 to prep for the updates. I then saw where HF 1 needed .Net 4.8 to run so before I did the updates I updated by SW App front end to 4.8 and SW SQL Back end to 4.8. Once I rebooted from that SQL has not worked at all. Still trying to figure this out but I maybe onto…

It looks like APM_WindowsEvent_Detail

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. I cannot like that statement enough silverbacksays

If I had a dollar for every time my sales person would call me about the bargin basement deals at the end of the quarter. Too bad budgets do not work out that way lol
-
It would have NPM, NCM, and a few other modules. We have lab setup - Cisco ACI, Servers, Exchange, etc and wanted something that is somewhat similar for testing/configurations/etc but that kind of pricing for a lab is really a bit crazy.
-
Thank you I will give that a try.
-
I do have some CAT 2 licenses do I need to assign the license to that instance?
-
WOW. Thank you!!!
-
I am working on setting up Patch Manager and was wondering - do I need WSUS setup and configured or can I do this all at once via Patch Manager? I am setting up WSUS and Patch Manager from scratch in a lab environment for testing. Thanks!

The Gold Master image is what I was looking for. Just looking to automate node addition in Solarwinds and this will help out quite a bit. Thanks!
-
Nope I do not have this setup at all in SAM. There is a citrix event that we need to monitor I have the event ID in citrix and the name that comes up in source. So I need to create monitoring of the event and configure an alert when it goes to offline or shows warning in the event log.

What I can't figure out is how to get the data from O365 > SW Util server to run PS queries > Orion. I seem to be missing that part in any of the documentation. I started with this article and set things up to run PS queries - Success Center and can connect and test but I have no idea how we get the data from O365 to…

Here is what the alert looks like. The first two 'does not contain' have parts of server names not to monitor in this alert. The last one is a group name. I figured a picture may help.
-
Thanks! But that does not work. It looks like it worked once or twice but I am still getting alerts from the All Nodes Alert and not getting the alert from my group. It is kind of odd. I went and cleared out the alert and did get the one for the group that it was supposed to I went and cleared out the alert and it landed…

And that is unanswered as well. I re-opened the ticket on this so hopefully someone may be able to figure it out.
-
Oh yeah. Early on in my IT career I did not take a backup or a snapshot when I could. You usually only do that once.
-
WOW! Thank you. I passed this over the the Service Now team for additional monitoring options.
