Thanks! Yeah I forgot about setting up custom properties for alerts and will do it that way. I guess you can't really setup an alert on a group of nodes.
-
This report is definitely cleaner than the other ones I have attempted. Thank you!!!
-
Thank you! I will try this. I have had to put on my report writing cap and figure out SWQL and SQL reporting. And I completely understand the alert to node direct relationship these requests are coming from above so trying to explain under the hood of Solarwinds and SQL can be kind of hard. Another question for the select…

Just did this change. Let's hope it works. Once Solarwinds finds the root cause I am assuming you will be sharing it with all of us? Thanks!!!

Additional items that were not running - all of the agents were offline as well. Running diagnostics to upload to see if you an figure anything out. So do we get some kind of credit being the system has been unreliable for 1.5 weeks and you still do not know what is going on?

I am a little confused to where I am supposed to add that at the end of the SQL connection string. kasaff
-
So was running update and now have this - aLTeReGo kasaff

Heck I will give this a try. I hopefully won't have to check the server all weekend to make sure its still working....

What if we have a single Orion App server and SQL server? Does it not matter if it is just on the App Server? I am having some really bizarre issues after I updated all of my Orion modules.
-
Thank you!!! I am sometimes very search challenged!!
-
I think this is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!!!
-
Thank you. I am going to have a look at what you did above and look at it in the alert.
-
Here is what my template looks like. I am going to have a look at the alert and what you have above. Ideally I would like the alert to go out but define what service is down. Right now it just sends out the generic "service down" with the link to click that opens a page in Orion. Thanks!

Thank you. I know the upgrade process is actually pretty easy now but I am looking for performance issues after the upgrade and it sounds like your AppStack is doing odd things. Did this happen right after the upgrade or did it take a few days for it to show up?
-
I love the new installer but wish we could pick what we could update. How long has the update been applied for?
-
Right now my lab is just Patch Manager but soon to be other things so I can blow them up... I mean test correctly lol. I am going to get a list and see if the Linux people can give me any insight to the boxes so in case one does reboot I can figure out where to hide. Thanks! - Dave

And please let us all know.
-
LOL so will that magically fix the outstanding support cases? Or will more issues when I completely hose my system? It only took your support group 24 hours for someone to actually pick up my high priority ticket and will take probably another day to get someone to say something absolutely stupid for me to try. This song…

We have a domain trust between our current forests but this is another 'external' domain so looks like we can only do the one unless there are trusts. Thanks!
-
Different forests.

I am looking at trying to beta test down the road and was wondering about the server setups. Do you just setup one VM and load all things Solarwinds - modules and DB on the same server? Then use this as a beta test box then when done then blow them away? Or do you setup SQL back end and Orion front end? Thanks!!
-
Its only a one version jump I keep everything up to date here. Architecture for all servers are Enterprise level and then some - Windows 2016 and SQL 2017 SP3.

My Lingering issues 1. When report writing I still can't search for items when creating the report. 2. Solarwinds is not clearing out JET.TMP files off the server. 3. Orion still occasionally gives me the 'server timed out error' when going between nodes in Orion. For 1 & 2 I am still trying to work with support but it…

Last October I moved all of our Solarwinds servers to Server 2016 and everything ran fine until I updated things in June. So my problems are Solarwinds update related they started when I upgraded to Orion 2018.2. If it was a weird server thing that has plagued us for quite some time I could see moving the install but this…

I updated to HF 5 yesterday to hopefully take care of some Temp JET files. Other than I have a few other odd issues I am working through support with.
-
nks7892 I did my upgrade back on June 18th. Everything ran fine for a few days until I joined the group that had issues with port exhaustion and the streaming versus buffered issues that were happening for roughly 3 weeks or so until Solarwinds figured out what was going on and then they released HF3. Which this fixed the…

Applying HF 4 today as well Let's hope this one works!!

I may take back my all clear message depending on what support comes back with. On Wedneday and now this morning getting what looks like the same thing happening before but we shall see...
-
So I am on day four of the hot fix. It things stay up and happy until Wednesday I think I should be good to go. I will let everyone know and thanks!!

Yeah after this update I am definitely will be waiting a good month or two before I update. Even if there are cool new things like this past update had.
