Any of your issues with the 'The New Manage Entities Page'? Anytime I go to try open it, it will open but will toss a SQL error. SolarWinds could not figure it out and my final response to them was my environment is not a test bed to figure out the issue. So I closed the ticket and will wait to see if the next update will…

Yeah. Can you fix support so I don't have to go to a public forum to get actual support? Over the past 6 months out of the support tickets I have opened with SolarWinds I may have gotten decent support TWICE. Otherwise it is a few weeks of hemming and hawing and get an answer in 2 weeks.

The Customer portal matches what I have on the Orion server. There is the process to remove and then resync the licenses which SW did and I did. I moved the Orion App server to a new box with new name and new IP. The Orion database also moved to a new box with new name and IP. One of the steps in the move process was to…

And because of your post I figured out the problem - Node Starts With - and the node does not start with that but it contains the 3rd line. I bet the Node Name Starts with is the problem. Thanks dodo123 for looking over my shoulder!!

When I started my Solarwinds adventure a bit over 2 years ago I had no knowledge of the product. It is a bit of reading and a little bit of trial and error. And also remember to keep things simple.

The monitor I was using was something I downloaded off of THWACK and there must have been something goofy in it. To test my theory I created a new event monitor from scratch to check for 7470 and it started working. I will call it IT Magic.
-
I did what you suggested and still a no go. We finally saw the event ID 4740 on a DC and it still did not pick it up in Solarwinds. I am thinking I may create this monitor from scratch and see if it works.

I know the DBAs on my team were excited for some of the SQL items that were added. I am super excited to have SQL added to PerfStack!!
-
THANK YOU!!!! And I side question if don't mind. What is the best way to get up to speed on Solarwinds? I have done some of the training videos but just looking for insight from others. And thanks again!
-
Yes it does use the internet to download the updates that are needed.
-
Just went and up voted and added my $.02. Thanks!!
-
And this is the reason I probably rely too much on Thwack and not actual Solarwinds support or sales.
-
When did HF 5 come out and what issues does HF 5 address? I have done HF 3 and HF 4 due to all the odd issues going on since the upgrade.
-
I have had the port exhaustion issue happen before on my Orion server prior to the last update I ran.
-
serena I have been following this thread and it is making me a bit nervous on updating my systems tomorrow. Have most of the updates been successful? Orion server has 8CPU, 48GB RAM, Windows 2016. SQL Server - 8CPU, 128GB RAM, Windows 2016, SQL 2016 SP2. I reading some of the comments have me just a little nervous.

The solarwinds cortex service and solarwinds administrator now start and stop whenever they want as well....
-
Thanks! I figured out my sign up issue and just signed up to join the beta program!!

We don't have a test environment (and that's a whole different post) and I will wait for this 'update' probably 3-4 months after it is released to the general public. I am still having issues from the last update in June that Solarwinds still can't figure out what is going on. Just my $.02.
-
hpstech I migrated all of my Solarwinds installation (SQL, Orion, DPA) servers all Server 2016 last October and they have been rock solid up until I updated to Orion 2018.2 - but other than the updates causing problems the servers have been rock solid.
-
Applied HF 4 and rebooted the App server once it was done. The Orion site is definitely faster than it was prior to applying HF 4. Now we wait to see if it remains up and stable.
-
I just opened a new ticket. On Wednesday Solarwinds was unusable for about 30 mins and this morning just dealt with an hour of it not working. Going through the event logs it sure looks like the same port exhaustion crap that started with the update I applied last June.
-
Oh yeah I wanted to make sure anyone else with the same thing would get things figured out and up and running. Thwack has been super helpful during this upgrade process.
-
Wow and I thought my 2 -3 weeks of this was bad. Good luck, we are all counting on you. Have you also changed the settings from streaming back to buffered?
-
Yeah that is what we found. Local accounts on the servers to monitor WMI. Was hoping there was an easier way.
-
And a follow up to this - how do I get this server to not report under my network wide alert when it goes over 80% - which is a global alert I have configured. Thanks!
-
This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you.
-
Ahh ok that makes sense aLTeReGo Thank you for clearing that up. I noticed that when I changed some over some data was retained but aviaiblity seemed to stay around. Thanks for everyone's input!! - Dave

Enhanced support experience? You mean I won't have to come to Thwack and figure out my issues?
-
I am also getting these on the App front end every three minutes -
-
It was one of the SWJobEngineWorker2x64.exe which when I checked the PID against the SW logs and pointed to the SAM IIS application.
