I spent the past two weeks going over this Success Center and making notes and trying to figure out what they actually were going to ask. Took the test this morning and realized pretty much the stuff I was focusing on was not on the test. At least it was free and I have one more wack at it.

I found it. I should have just took the rest of this week off. Thank you for the assist! hpstech

So we setup the alert to alert on a component and the alert actually works better now and will alert on the one service that went down. Much improved over before and I had no idea you could setup an alert like this. AMAZING!!

It has PS V3, installed AzureAD module, connected to AzureAD and things look different but still not reporting. Right now I am just testing with the licensing module and it is kind of reporting but not giving me numbers of licenses. Hopefully I can spend some time this afternoon figuring this out.

So if I don't use the advanced scheduling it looks like it works. I used the daily/hourly option to have it run daily at 3:30 and the one launched. Must be a bug in the software.
-
Checked there see all of my manual jobs but not anything I configured. When I set these up I picked the advanced setting for the job I may go in and try not to use advanced and see if that does anything. This is really odd.
-
Nope I changed it to component like your example.

My Solarwinds sales person is all about the sale he could care less about the end users. I have asked him for quotes on multiple things and told him we will get back to you and I usually end up with daily phone calls for 2 weeks that I generally ignore. I asked him about this yesterday and he called today asking what he…

If this is the same HF that I applied last week as a pre-release HF it really didn't do anything. Before I left for the weekend I rebooted my Orion app server so I could go on vacation for the weekend and was supposed to have a fix today per an email from Kate A. We will see if anyone reaches out for a fix. Just my $.02.

It looks like the BusinessLayer is the problem here. The past two crashes have started happening after I see the business layer have an error in my event viewer. Things go up and down for a few hours until it finally stops working.
-
Agreed. And it gets to be more fun when you open a high priority ticket in the morning when this happens and 5 hours later NO ONE from Solarwinds support has reached out....
-
So I am looking for the database column name - . Thank you! I have not had my report writing hat on in awhile so I am a bit rusty on this.

aLTeReGo Config Wizard ran for 30-40 Mins or so. Looks like it completed and I had this error at the end. First one does not look like too much of a big deal not sure about the second one.
-
I did reboot the server so run the configuration wizard again?
-
I have had that installed and have run some queries through that for some reports - usually I will find a query and do changes until it does what I wanted it to do. I think I might start be understanding a little bit the SWQL. WIth the SWQL studio I am seeing where part of the select statements come from. I found the query…

Interesting. This sounds like some of the odd issues that happened when I updated my Orion to 2018.2 everything ran fine for two weeks then issues started happening. As a work around to all the bizarre issues I reboot my app server nightly and that has introduced stability until I can add some additional webservers to see…
-
This side of the office heard how happy I was to get that working!!!
-
And when I do the update and it makes things worse where do I go from there? I have a vacation coming up and my work around to keep Solarwinds up and running - scheduling nightly reboots of the app server so I know it will remain up. Maybe solarwinds should work on their existing products and understanding on how to…

Question - how did you prepare for the SAM test? I took it once and did great on some parts and absolutely terrible on others. Now that I took it once I hopefully know what to actually study up on but looking for any other recommendations. Thanks!
-
Thank you! Now I know for the next round of beta software.
-
I received another email from Support with more 'Try this and then try this and let us know'. I wonder if these people realize that not all of us just do Solarwinds and have a job we actually have to do. Heck I even have sent emails to Tech Support feedback and someone calls and talks to me say they are going to do…
-
Thanks! I will give this a read over and give it a wack.

Question - can I only have one instance of Service Now connected to Solarwinds? We setup integrations and it looks like they want me to connect our prod version of Solarwinds to DEV and TEST in ServiceNow. I do not think we can but I want to ask. Thanks.
-
Yeah I mentioned that we just needed to turn on the connection and not setup the monitoring or any of the other Service Now ticket items. I also watched the video and it was really easy to setup. We just launched this on Monday so they might be a bit overwhelmed.
-
The rest of my NFR licensing is 100 node so I was keeping it all the same. At this point I told the sales person never mind I have other more important things I can drop $20K on.
-
Thanks! I was not sure if Patch Manager just needed WSUS to run or if it had to be configured first then Patch Manager made things easier. I setup WSUS yesterday and let things cook overnight so I would have some nodes. I planned on installing Patch Manager on the WSUS server in the lab due to space so I hope this will not…

Thank you! This was exactly what I was looking for!

One thing I just started looking at were the different states available. I was using IIS State is equal to stopped but I am thinking maybe to change the trigger to down instead. So it will send out when the site is down but not sure what state IIS will report if the site goes down - if its 'down' or 'stopped'
-
The IP will be changing. There are contracts that allow communication between the different domains - right now I do monitoring in the all of the different domains so there is communication but I will be sending over the list of ports that are needed for SolarWinds to work just to make sure everything will work to my team…

Oh yeah the sales people - It is a joke a well. They only respond when you want to purchase something. It would be interesting to see what kind of mess is happening internally with Solarwinds because from the outside it looks like a big mess.
