And I just realized I am running IPAM V 4.5.2. Failover is supported in V4.6. So that's my problem.

Sorry for all the bits and pieces here but the other thing this update did was change my primary website to the server name that is running Orion. A few updates ago I had this same issue where an alert was sent out and there is a link to the node in the email - instead of having the correct link it had the server name so…

Thank you!!!

Yeah I am going to be putting something together on how to start up your basic monitoring in O365 and go from there. All of the links provided above are great but I finally was able to put everything together and I need to work on my MVP points too so this should help.

I worked with support for an hour and they did pretty much everything I did this morning and took more diagnostics. After I got off the call with them I did some searching on the Trust Error figuring it was something with the cross domain issue. I think it actually was so I created a local user on my Orion server which is…

So I was able to find the custom properties with no grouping and that worked for now. Thanks dodo123!! I am still not sure how to remove the group but at least I have another Solarwinds work around.
-
So Support just said it was because I am not running things as the local admin? Oh I have a case open with support The current one is 00150177 - but have had issues since updating on June 18th so I think we are coming up on the two month anniversary of unstable Solarwinds suite. Well actually DPA is the only thing that has…

cmazko So the light bulb turned on a bit this morning after talking to support for a bit. I was looking at all things O365/Azure monitoring and was trying to do everything at once - monitoring, Microsoft Graph, and the application. I now have a good grasp on this - start with the SAM monitoring get that setup and rolling…

That was part of my problem I could not find the instructions on setting up the actual connection. Now I have those and can give it a try. I also did respond back asking if it was or was not supported. I am not too confident that I will get a resolution it took almost a day for someone to actually pick up the ticket at…

serena - Looks like alerts stopped sending over the weekend Friday at 10:38PM. My guess is going to be a port exhaustion issue but I have yet to look at it yet. FYI...

How does one go about removing that group?

The new mantra to fix things at Solarwinds "reboot until it works"
-
aLTeReGo Since I applied HF 4 this morning and rebooted my Orion app server I get this for my JET files - I just ran a poll Orion to see if that will fix it.
-
Will do!
-
Thanks! I just put the SAM lab licensing on the back burner for now. Can you work your magic and get me an entirely new sales person?

Nothing too crazy 584 nodes between 2 data centers and 6 locations across the US. Right now just one app server running Orion, VNQM, IPAM, SAM, DPAIM, NCM, VMAN, NetPath, NPM and NTA. There is a separate SQL server for Orion, DPA, and NTA.

I setup a Solarwinds Utility node and followed this to setup on it so it could talk to O365/Azure - Success Center After reading through the above documentation I setup api.admin.microsoftonline.com as my external node. I tried running the Licensing SAM module against the API and it did not work. I am assuming it is…

I did find some articles discussing compatibility issues with certain SQL versions. SQL Server Management Studio 18 GA (15.0.18118.0) not compatible with .NET Framework 4.8 – Customer Feedback for Microso… I was running SQL 2016/SSMS V 14 so that also might have been the issue. Thanks!!

I have the monitor setup like above - one component to one event ID to make things simple. And I cannot thank you enough for this. I have a dashboard setup to report on DC 'things' and added a widget to it and put that SWQL query on it and made it searchable. Thank You wluther you made my Friday afternoon and everyone…

I answered my own question. If this option is not configured it will not send data from ServiceNow > Soalrwinds. At least I think.

So this morning I was trying to add some nodes to a monthly SLA report we run for up time on our Infrastructure Equipment. I went to try to add the custom property and now get this. It has been sitting on loading for a good 10 mins now. Hot Fix 4 = NO GO. It actually made things worse. Anyone know what is actually going on…

Ewww I used Nagios years ago and the only thing that made me happy about it was turning it off. I hope this HF works.

So for now I setup the HTTPS monitor and added content to the search string so it checks the website for content if it is up. I had setup an external monitor that is just using ICMP so I modified the alert and added website content to the search string. I will definitely have a look at the http from login monitor as well.…

Oh I know I also love how the installer has all the trial software to install before you get to what you actually need to install. The Installer was great in June of 2018.
-
Then i don't know what's up here. Like I stated below the alert works if I create a separate one but it doesn't work with the one that works for the other servers in that group. The only difference is this note is monitored via SNMP and the rest are WMI.
-
Thank you! I will be working on this next week and let you know how it goes!!
-
Yup my logic was backwards! Works just great now! Thanks sans and Thanks cahunt!!!!

In the task manager is says it is running and has been running the whole time it is supposed to run for. Is this normal behavior? Normally when I run a windows task it runs then is done.
