OMG!!! I always overlook things like this. THANK YOU!!!!

@"kishore574" The labs KMSigma posted are really good at showing the basics of dashboards. Start out simple and learn and grow. Those the the three labs I have watched a few times and made notes to start my voyage onto new and exciting Dashboards.
-
Yes - this was turned into a bit of a learning exercise.
-
I figured I would come in here and close the loop. Issue 2 - I removed the LDAP information and removed the groups and added them back and things are working. Yaay! Issue 1 - The Identity Team is working on a new tool to automate account creation. They were deploying Administrative accounts with this tool before going live…
-
Support just came back with - LDAP is turned on. You only have to configure advanced LDAP authentication if the Orion server is not a member of the domain of the individual/group users who can access the web console. If the Orion server is a member of the same domain as with the users, there's no need to turn on LDAP.…

This is all the documentation I can find right now https://documentation.solarwinds.com/en/success_center/orionplatform/content/core-enable-ldap-authentication.htm

Does anyone know if Orion can support different AD Groups? I had four groups setup right now - Admins, User, Viewer, Executive Review and right now only the Admins work but no new Admins work. Support has me going around in circles and are sending me things I have done and checked over. Thanks!
-
I have setup an Executive Review group with limited access and have my regular account in that one and it does not work. I tried in different browsers and also with different users and no go.
-
Are you talking about the Solarwinds service account I use for monitoring? I just did the AD check and test with the Solarwinds service account and it did work.
-
It still works!!!!
-
Thanks! I will give that a try and/or open a ticket with support. It looks like my AD auth for Solarwinds is not working with anything new.
-
I had no idea that existed and it looks like it will be going web based in the future. Thanks!!!
-
Oh yeah. Once I started working with this it made sense. Thanks!
-
Thank you. I will have a look and see if this helps.
-
Do you have a link of how to do this? I feel like a complete newbie again with all these questions.
-
Wow that sounds really amazing and builds off something Kevin posted that I found this morning - https://thwack.solarwinds.com/resources/thwack-command-center/solarwinds-thwack-mvps/f/forum/25799/video-use-custom-properties-to-filter-a-widget-resource'
-
Ok thanks. That is kind of what I figured but just wanted to check to see if there were any other magic tricks lol.
-
I had a little time to play so I was editing one of my dashboards and now I really see what you did here. I hopefully will get some additional time to dig into this. Thank you again!
-
THANK YOU!!! @"jm_sysadmin". I will look at this later when I go back into learning/teaching/figuring out dashboards and SWQL. I am sure I will have more question. This is going to give me a great place to start and look at how things are setup. Woohoo!
-
I have been looking for this exact query. THANK YOU!!!
-
This is great but I am just a bit confused at how the custom properties are used in the query. I tried to set this up in my test area and it did not like the query. Is the custom property Business_Region or is it EMEA? Thanks!!!
-
Wow. This was really helpful I have this same problem and figured it was something with the node. Thanks!
-
If you have Server and Application Monitor (SAM) there are some built in templates to monitor Solarwinds Services as an option.
-
And not just your standard SQL servers
-
I worked with Christopher and he was able to get me in but I had to use the Solarwinds local account to get into SWQL studio. Not sure why it is not accepting my domain login. I had an issue like this years ago with Network Atlas so not sure if they are related. Thanks! -Dave
-
It has been probably over a year since I have tried to connect. I get these options to login as -
-
I am using my domain admin account that I use to do things in Orion. I bet that is the incorrect account lol
-
So I found the widgets but is there some way to figure out what or how it is pulling its information so I can customize?
-
Ahhhhhhhhh thanks. The DBA team likes instances with wait times and we are trying to organize by Prod / Test boxes and the different business units. I can setup a dashboard with a group but the data was not showing up correctly in some of the widgets. This looks like a bit of a fun rabbit hole. Thank you!!

I do like that one as well and have used some if it to setup dashboards but I thought Lab #93 gives you a good basic example of creating a dashboard. Heck they are all very informative!!!
