Maps and map objects created or edited in Orion Network Atlas are stored in the Orion database. If the database can successfully migrated, there is no need to migrate any additional Network Atlas map files. Assuming you have a backup of your non-corrupted db you should try the steps in this pdf-…

Hello men, I am planning to buy or rather comparing some similar softwares. I have the following doubts can someone worked on this help... 1.Can we create a ''Monitor only"" login for certain users so that they can just see the Network Map (coz i dont want the operations guys to edit and play around with the settings)…

One way I can think of to do this would be to restore the backup with a different database name (you could just call it NetPerfMon1) and then install an Eval copy of Orion on a separate server. The Eval is fully functional with a 30-day license so you could get all of the old data on that particular node without disrupting…

What version of Orion are they using? This behavior was addressed in later versions. Can you have your DBA truncate the transaction log? If this is not possbile here are a few suggestions- First try to manually run the database maintenance. This will take some time since it seems the log file has grown considerably. Close…

You might try a repair on the Orion install.

Was the device setup by IP or name? Run the diagnostics. Diagnostics Utility can be found in C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\SolarwindsDiagnostics.exe [assuming a default install path].-In the results look through the alert table definitions - the orphaned alert may be triggering on a name that is duplicate or an ip that…

You'll need to click Settings in the upper right hand corner > IPAM Settings > System Settings >Config Default to change it.

You can go to Advacned Fetaures->Shudwon Netperfmon-> stop the alerting services and then uninstall them so they will not alert on the reboot- After booting up you will need to reinstall and press Start services-

Currently this is not possible.

Here is a possible solution for this issue. Try increasing the asp buffer size. Go into the properties of IIS and check "Enable Direct Metabase Edit" this will allow direct edit of Metabase.xml without restarting IIS. After this is done, you need to determine the combined size of the Nodes and Interfaces table, convert…

This is not a problem. IPmonitor is not very process intensive. One consideration would be reassigning the HTTP/HTTPS ports from twithin the Configure IPMonitor Utility -> Start-> Programs-> IPMONITOR -> Communications; Web Server Ports - (required for login, needs to be different from what Orion is using in IIS)

Please see the suggestions in this post. Let us know if this helps.

That contains Hotfix 1 and should run when you install the Full.exe
-
We would just need them client side to be able to take advantage of the tools from the Orion page, correct? Correct-
-
Have you applied all of the HotFixes? http://www.thwack.com For a quick workaround try to add the device through it’s hostname, then, once added, go into the devices Node Details and change the IP Address to read correctly.
-
you can try the ADD/Remove ->Repair and also run through the configuration wizard again. Hope that helps.

Yes, this is possible. The steps can be found here. www.solarwinds.com/.../OrionIPAMAGImportingIPAddressesSettings.htm

Couple things to try: 1) Make sure you applied all APM service packs, especially SP2, which fixed an issue with some false alerts. 2) It could be the APM poller is timing out. Try increasing the timeout value in the template. Having both modules monitor the same application can cause this (even though they can run side by…

I would recommend uninstalling IIS and reinstalling it. Also remember that you will need the Windows 2003 server disk or the I386 files in order to do this.

The migration guide has some backup procedures http://www.solarwinds.com/support/Orion/docs/OrionServerMigration.pdf Also this tutorial for DBs- http://www.solarwinds.com/resources/democenter/Orion/Backups.html

This error occurs when the values are set higher than what the polls per second GUI can display. See this link for how to estimate a good registry value http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/OrionAdministratorGuide.1.320.htm#10001652 HTH

Have you tried running the Website portion of the Config. Wizard. Also you might try Add/Remove -> Change-> Repair of Orion to possibly resurrect the old website.
-
You can truncate certain tables. To determine which tables are the largest- Go to Start> Programs> Solarwinds Orion> Advance Features> Database Manager Once it opens and your database is connected. Look at your database tables to see which ones are excessively large and report back here.
