Could be a couple things. First it means the volume is in an unknown state. This could be caused by a flaky snmp agent, re-indexing of the volumes, re-imaging of the particular systems. You can use the Solarwinds Toolset SNMP MIB browser to check the iftable MIB on the device. Then look at the IFOper status and the IF…

If you have active maintenance you will be covered with the upgrade, unless you wish to increase your licenses or something of that nature.

The system may be running out of RPC connections. -How many Monitors do you have configured to use RPC as the communication type? -Is the error eliminated by switching the Monitor's Communication Type to WMI or SNMP?

Monitored Interfaces only.

Don- have a look at these steps- this may help www4.solarwinds.net/.../MovingYourOrionNPMDatabase.pdf and www4.solarwinds.net/.../SolarwindsOrion8.1DBmigration.html

I see in this previous thread you had this, was this ever resolved or has it suddenly reappeared?
-
Maybe give this suggestion a try-
-
Nice, Thanks!
-
see this thread-

No not in plain text-

Are you using Customer Properties? How far are you drilling down> and maybe you could post a screenshot of what you are seeing.
-
Are you creating the map s on the server via RDP or Terminal Services or are you using remote admin? There were issues when creating or editing a map using RDP- The low color mode becomes inherited into the map- You may need to re-create the map all together http://support.solarwinds.net/kbase/ProblemDetail.cfm?ID=231

Historical NetFlow Reports on the Network Performance Monitor Reports page are accessible by clicking Reports in the Views toolbar. After adding the report you can then click the Edit button and edit the time period to one hour. Reference page 22 for more details. www.solarwinds.com/.../NetFlowAdministratorGuide.pdf

This may not apply to your issue but the same error with resolution is discussed in this thread, however, this was with APM-

NCM device support is based on device command templates. NCM provides out of the box support for over 15 different vendors and 100s of different device models. Dan- see if this UI tool can help-

Yes you can... - truncate table Traps - truncate table TrapVarBinds (In case you prefer detailed steps) go to your DB Manager from the Orion application. Be sure to run a backup and stop your polling services for this to take affect. find your SQL Server on the left pane then drop down the tree until you find your DB. Then…
-
Are you running native SQL maintenance, instead of using the Database Manager from the Orion server? See my instructions from this thread-
-
After installing SP3, you can delete the SolarWinds_Logging subdirectory.
-
You didn't mention which version of Orion you have or the SQL version? Substantial DB changes have taken place in more recent versions. You may consider moving to a SQL Server running Standard or Enterprise edition, as that will not limit your database size as much. To reduce the current size of your database, you can try…

. When we try to connect to a remote box it fails. Could you provide some details as to what message you get when you attempt this?
-

hmmm, well I just checked with them and it has been received # 22862 -

Which run-time error are you receiving? Also you will need to contact support to request the 7.8.5 SL2000 version-for your portal.
-
On pg. 74 http://www.solarwinds.com/support/orionNCM/docs/OrionNCMAdministratorGuide.pdf Did inserting a space not work? i.e.- ${DownArrow} ${CRLF}
-
Seems like the reports folder is missing or a permissions issue to that folder. Are you clicking on the admin acct? Was this a migration or straight upgrade? Also, which version of 7 did you upgrade from? You need to upgrade from at least 7.8.5 for compatibility issues.
-
Sorry about the frustration- There needs to be a message stating the process including the registration with MS, which is required for the tool to work properly. I'll see if the issue you have with your custom macros can be addressed. Did you have any luck with the MS SQL server Migration Assistant?

Yes. To some degree this can be accomplished. A “ping” monitor can be adjusted to fail at any time increment you choose. This is done by making a combination of adjustments in the properties of the monitor itself. In the “Timing” parameters, you will want to adjust the “Maximum Test Duration” from its default value of 300…
