Can you truncate the TrapVarbinds table? or can you turn off the traps? - after you truncate you can Compact or wait until the nightly maintenance to see a dramatic reduction in DB size-

However, such awareness is part of the functionality of the LAN Surveyor application. You may want to check it out if you have not already. that is correct - When Continuous Scan is active, LANsurveyor scans the network and looks for any new nodes and you can alert on these if need be.

I hit that and get the data rather than the graph. I copy the URL for the data into report scheduler and it doesn't work. I even took the existing working report (Graph) and deleted the graph URL and inserted the chart URL and I get the same error in RunOrionJob.log file (Error processing Job "Monthly Utilization" Error…

Are test alert emails working manually?

Perhaps we need to work on the messaging regarding license resets. There is no need to call customer service with these requests if you download the free license manager from your customer portal. This gives one the ability to park/move your licenses.

8.5.1 w/ SP3 is the latest- (everything is rolled into that) so once you remove this orphaned data and the white space is compacted the db should return to a more manageable size.

If you have already tried to run the Configuration Wizard to clear this up by selecting the services with little improvement then it would be best if you open a case. There are a few more things that support can look into that might cause this.

Upgrade to v 8 first, then migrate- See page 8 in this doc. for migration steps- www.solarwinds.net/.../ToolsetQuickStartGuide.pdf

My apologies, no coffee yet ; ) Open system manager>>click the alerts button>>click configure basic alerts>>click the check boxes to de-select the alerts and then recheck the boxes. This should allow the alerts to be cleared. Then go to your website and hit f5 - the alert should clear. Please let me know if this helps.

The above procedure refers to ipMonitor, is that what you're using?
-
So to clarify you can get to the log in screen okay, but not the Network Summary Home?

One suggestion I have is you might add permissions to the NETWORK SERVICE account via computer management. Add this user to the administrators group and remove all other groups from this user. From here please verify this user still has full control over the InetPub\SolarWinds folder. Once verified restart IIS.

There is a great guide for using SQL reporting services in the content sharing zone but this probably won't help you achieve what you are asking.

That looks like version 8.1. Do you have to remain on that particular version?
-
yeah, i was thinking of a quick fix- let me dig around some. If nothing appears soon- you may consider entering dummy info into those fields- i.e 1.1.1.1

You are having trouble importing MIBs? You cannot, however, import MIBs directly into the Orion NPM MIB database. The Orion poller import mechanism does, however, allow you to import the association of a MIB with a Universal Device Poller. The poller can then be associated with a device in your environment. Use the…

Yes you are correct - the name has changed with the New version- Orion-> Advanced Features->Orion Service Manager->select and Stop services

I'm not sure that it had all the upcoming features listed- maybe its being edited at this time??? this link works for me www.solarwinds.com/.../releaseNotes.htm

I would definitely submit a ticket asap.
-
also make sure you have installed both the hotfix 1 & 2 for v 8.1 and Do not run the configuration wizard-(which will break the Hotfix)
-
Dan- To clarify you will need to create a support ticket and attach them to the auto-reply that you receive from the ticketing system. https://forms.netsuite.com/app/site/crm/externalcasepage.nl?compid=638609&formid=12&h=3d0552f20b2e9bd6580b

We have recently made some changes to the portal so maybe that could be the issue. I cannot determine why it is not listed. Please contact Customer service with your customer ID and let them know that 9.1 is not available in your portal. customerservice@solarwinds.com

What IP address are you using for the router? Is it a serial int? Try using a different one, preferably one that supports broadcast MAC discovery - like Ethernet. Anyway just try another interface and see if it works. Just a hunch. Let me know if this helps. Also make sure you have installed 9.0.1 http://www.thwack.com
