Looking forward to this! If it can negotiate for higher raises for the team next year - YES! But if it can handle a bunch of other stuff, that is ok too.

Tracking those event logs by id from windows on the swosh servers is very useful. I have tracked some of those back to sql server issues during same timeframe and been able to track them against network latency also. This will give a dba some input to work with too. Setup netpath to your dbinstance on port 1433 from your…

Just a couple. RBAC for OSH. It has been a pain point for years and I agree with the choir. SolarWinds API should use OAUTH2 and Bearer Tokens. This is my feature request from 2022. Still need it. Integrate Solarwinds SDK with VS Code. Might not need SWQL studio then. Another feature request but not as old. More love for…

I love this. No more - hey can you tell me the top xx nodes without have to look at or create a relevant chart/perfstack/dashboard. If this act on custom properties in the prompt - even better. Please tell me it can….

Hmm, Bring Orion back as the AI name.
-
Not Kevai or solai - they sound awkward. KevAIn or just Kevin. NOT SigmAi. Nor OhAIo (that is spelled OH - IO for those of you living in Michigan), nor SkibidAI…. Please no. On second thought. If the SkibidAI pops out of a toilet to offer suggestions - that might be marketing magic for the young ones. And there are ready…

The one and only… Happy to see that you are still lurking! I could not have done a whole lot without your sharing of knowledge and humor.

I noticed the categories in bubbles under each question in the Discussion widget. And I LIKE IT! It sticks out to me more now and I can focus on things that are relevant to me. Or things that are not relevant for me but look interesting!

I like it. I poked around and find the new layout nicer to read. The one thing I noticed that I am missing is the ability to page through recent activity. It only lists the first five comments for all recent activity, unread and new ideas. I would love to have the ability to page through them. Made it easier to find…

I read your statement another way. OK, I really like the drop down selection if possible - I can see that on a component level. I just removed a long comment about using the SolarWinds installer to load specific powershell versions. Not sure if that would be the place to do that. security and all. Not that installing…

I have a seen a mix. CHatbots at one place *somewhat adopted. But AI search in another. Backend usage seems to vary with embedded stuff that comes with each application.

Hmm need a both.. I like some of the shorter topics, or the more specific focused how to's. The live training is great to be able to ask questions and stump trainer. LOL. I like both, one for focused content that I need NOW, and the other to ingest really new or unusual stuff when I can interact.

Its ITIL/ITSM vs ADo/DevOps... Two systems that seem to be at odds with each other. Not sure how to merge a traditional service desk with dev ops service desk.

THis is not just a meraki problem. I am noticing that api-only is becoming a thing.

Read Day 3 question VERY closely. Then look at the hint link. Also - I think I want this months logo on a t shirt. Seems fitting somehow.

Gotta be blade runner. I think we need a whole thwack contest dedicated to just Philip K. Dick movies.

Members of comic duos for servers in a cluster. There was one server that behaved and was the normal one. Then there was the other....

@"fop" Perfect answer. Thank you.

There is another problem - you can have lots of tools, but they belong to someone else. So the same or different tools get purchased multiple times for different teams. Put another way, you have tools but you cannot use them.

HAH! Number 8 was very tricky. Took some thinking in other Areas that were not related to facebook etc.

And Remember that you needed to correlate that with Windows OS and SQL versions too! And still make it match up across every single module.... Then a hotfix or new version went GA a couple of days prior to the much much much planned upgrade, but the matrix was not updated. I recall early versions of the upgrade advisor and…

Congrats to the new and old MVPs! Thank you for the recognition!

This was definitely worth the time. It was great to meet people that I have interacted with on Thwack finally. I picked up a lot of tidbits too. Again, if you get the chance to go to a SWUG meetup - GO!

Another ditto to silverbacksays on the version and upgrade advice. 12.0 to 12.4 is a huge change in version. Also - the new installer is LEAPS and BOUNDS ahead of the older manual upgrade method. The thoughts on keeping one version behind, and waiting for the hotfixes to drop before upgrading, is also recommended. For…

Sadly, i took the wrong pill and woke up at Initech... Help me... Please... I have to find a red stapler to escape the Matrix... I actually did have an office setup in a basement once. Not sure what that says about how they felt about me. I think Matrix might win this one. I still voted for office space. It is like living…

Gotta be wargames. Hackers was a bit to weird even back then.

For those of us with standing CABs or change meetings, nothing is approved outside of them unless it is an emergency. Then it gets fast tracked to upper management for approval. So sneaking in on a Friday with a totally new and unheard change is a not a good way to start the weekend. Nothing bad ever happens when you just…

That might be solvable if the client has a solid web filtering solution for the Self Hosted environment that permits granular access for the servers. It will depend on their internal policy and capabilities. Otherwise, air gapped is air gapped, end of story.

Going with the flow - usually email to specific teams, but the noc monitors production/high priority alerts and generates tickets on those.

D. All of the above...
