What version of IP SLA Manager are you running?
-
jeanmi, Although we only support Cisco's CallManager and CallManager Express as actual CallManager nodes, you can still monitor Alcatel devices in IP SLA Manager. Call managers from other manufacturers other than Cisco can be monitored with IP SLA Manager by using a Universal Device Poller specifically configured for you…

Hi Robert, This sounds strange, indeed; please open a support ticket and reference this thwack post. -Craig

Simon, Are you trying to set up alerts, or generate a report? It sounds like you're trying to generate a report. BTW, cool thwack name! I'm a big fan of the Foundation and Robot series. :-) -Craig

The new DameWare Central Server should help you get around this. As long as connections are going through the Central Server, the DW client on your VMs doesn't have to be licensed. HTH, Craig
-
In almost all cases the end user must grant permission for a connection with MRC if the 'Permission Required' setting is enabled on the MRC client agent. Not sure I understand your second question. Can you clarify what you mean by the PC to which you're reconnecting is sometimes random? MRC connects via IP or hostname, so…

warbird, That doesn't sound right. Please open a support ticket and reference this thwack post. Thanks! Craig

Sorry for the delayed reply. We're researching this one...

Opening a ticket is your best bet; they can walk through your configuration with you and see what's going on. It's difficult to troubleshoot without looking at exactly how you have the alerts configured. -Craig
-
Thanks for the feedback, Scott... I've logged these as feature requests. -Craig
-
The new Central Server is included with an MRC or DRS license. The new Internet Proxy which gives the ability to connect to remote machines outside your firewall over HTTP/HTTPS is included with a DRS license only. HTH, Craig

Netflow Traffic Analyzer is going to be the module you should use to monitor bandwidth utilization for devices that support sFlow, J-Flow, IPFIX, or Netflow. You will use IP SLA Manager to create synthetic transactions or operations between Cisco devices that will help you assess things like round trip time and latency…

Michael, The Subnet Scan Status page will give you the status of the scans in queue, although it won't give you percentages. -Craig

What graphs are you specifically having issues with? Also, could you please email me screenshots of what you're seeing? craig.mcdonald@solarwinds.com Thanks!

We get frequent requests for more fine grained user management and tracking across all of the Orion products; this is another good suggestion. I've logged this as a feature request. -Craig
-
kbrookov, It's in the works. See my post here. Path Echo and Path Jitter will give you hop-by-hop details (in other words, a traceroute) between target and source for those operations. Part of our implementation will show you path deviations. When previewing this feature with some other customers, the path deviation was…

If I go into the Edit Report page, I can specify 15 minute intervals in the 'Time Selection' section and specify 'Custom...' for 'Active Time Frame' in the 'Report Time Frame' section which gives me the option of selecting certain time periods and on which days I want. Does this not get you close to you what you need?

There is a known issue being addressed in the next release related to ping monitor not being available after an upgrade. Did you upgrade from a previous version, or is this a fresh 10.8.2 install?

Hi Byron, This type of alert where values are correlated and evaluated against a constant are not possible in ipMonitor. Craig McDonald | Director of Product Management – Systems & Applications Management SolarWinds | IT Management, Inspired By You office: 512.874.3480 | cell: 512.585.3271

There's not an integrated client in any of the tools like the TFTP Server is, but you should be able to manually initiate transfers from the devices themselves. On a Cisco device, for instance, you can upload the running config to the SCP server with "copy run scp://<ip of SCP server>/file.config". This will upload to a…

Sorry you're having a tough time getting things configured. Are these devices routers? There is a known issue with adding routers via Discovery but it's been around for some time and was not introduced in 10.8.2.
-
Tim, Can you verify that the operation was actually created on the router? Thanks! Craig
-
Brian, You can create a TCP connect operation from an IP SLA capable node to any external target; all IP SLA Manager needs is an IP address or host name for the external target. In your case, it would be the IP address of your SAP port. You would select the Custom path type when creating the operation, and we give you the…

DameWare is on v11 now, so you're using a pretty old version. I would recommend upgrading and see if you're still encountering the issue. If you are, please open a support ticket and we'll take a closer look.
-
Med, For each graph, you should be able to adjust the time period by clicking the 'EDIT' button in the top right-hand corner of the resource. If you're selecting a longer time period than the current day and the graph isn't adjusting accordingly then I would open a support ticket (please reference this thwack post if you…

ekonowal, Many of your points have merit, and we definitely realize the value that many of our customers find in standalone desktop applications. That said, I'd like to clarify a few points. Although standalone applications provide clear benefits to the individual user, they don't always scale in larger environments. Web…

The Drive Space Monitor uses RPC or SNMP communication to test the amount of available drive space on a specified drive, share or mount. The Drive Space Monitor Wizard allows you to configure Drive Space Monitors quickly and easily. However, if you prefer greater control over the process, you can Clone an existing Drive…

wademn, Marie is correct, there isn't currently a way to run ad hoc reports from the web interface. Report Writer is going to be your tool for that task. Are there certain reports for which you commonly get requests? If so, we can always look at adding more out-of-the-box reports if there is sufficient demand. -Craig
