mswanson, Sorry for the delay. This one is tough w/o some additional information. What does the historic traffic and packet loss look like on those interfaces? -Craig

HBrandNSB and smcdonald, Thanks for the feedback. As Brandon mentioned, it is on our roadmap to improve this experience. I will be reaching out to the two of you at some point in the future to make sure we get the requirements right. -Craig

Thanks, Jason. I've logged this and we'll take a look. -Craig

Hi David, SFTP does not use SSL certificates – SSL is only used for FTPS and HTTPS. HTH, Craig

We have scheduled scans in IPAM today. We will be adding scheduled discovery to NPM in a future release. Is this what you're looking for? -Craig

Which SolarWinds web page and which application... ipMonitor? What are you trying to copy? Sorry for the questions, but it's not clear to me what you're trying to do. -Craig
-
We'll be adding support for this (it's the Multi-Object Chart Resource) in the next release of APM so that monitors and components can be added as objects. HTH, Craig

Sorry for the delay in responding. If I understand correctly, you want IPAM to use the name of the scope you're using on the actual DHCP server. Is that correct?

Hi Graham, We know some of our templates need updating based on new app versions. I'll add this to the list. -Craig

Have you seen this thread on thwack? Greg discusses SNMP v3 configuration using Engineer's Toolset, and another user posted an Orion config that worked for them. If these suggestions don't help, I would open a support ticket, and someone should be able to help you with your configuration. HTH, Craig

jhalford, I think what you're looking for is the agent configuration that should be deployed on the specific machines to which users in the specified group should be able to connect. See screenshot below. For the specific workstations you referenced, you'll want to deploy the agent with 'Must be member of one of the…

If I understand what you're asking, you should have a couple of options. You can either upgrade the agent on ad-hoc basis when you connect to each remote machine, or you can use the custom MSI builder to push out the version of the agent you want to use through Group Policy.

You can actually use the PowerShell monitor in APM to do this. Here is an example of how to call Web Service methods from PowerShell - http://thepowershellguy.com/blogs/posh/archive/2009/05/15/powershell-v2-get-weather-function-using-a-web-service.aspx. You just need a URL with the service WSDL file available and the…

Hi Kyle, We actually have a script for this on the Content Exchange. You would need to modify it for directories (it was written for files), but it should do the trick. You can find the script here. HTH, Craig

netwiz2007- This is something we're actually working on for a future release. See my post here. -Craig

Unfortunately, we don't have an automated mechanism for deploying the DRS agent like we do for the MRC agent. I've added this as a feature request. Here are a couple of workarounds: KB article on how to manually deploy the DRS agent: How To Manually Install or Remove the Mini Remote or NT Utilities Client Agent Services…

Hi Peter, Sorry for the delayed reply. I found your previous post on the same topic in the DameWare forums here. It's unclear to me why the original developers would claim 'by design' on this behavior as it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to uninstall if we detect the agent is already there. We'll take a look at this.…

Xart, please open a support ticket if your are still having this issue. -Craig

Please open a support ticket.

noodles, I would suggest opening a support ticket and reference this thwack post. -Craig

Currently the only way to do this is as you've described; however, this is an interesting use case. Can you provide a little more detail on how you have your regions configured in Orion and EOC? Maybe post some screenshots? Thanks! Craig
-
Sounds like you're having issues running in FIPS mode. I would open a support ticket and they can help you get it configured.

Yes. You can create a monitor for any known OID, although this particular OID is not included in the MIB db that ships with the tool. Regardless, you can still monitor the OID. If you want to include it in the MIB db, just use the MIB compiler that comes with the tool. HTH, Craig

alandk- Let me see if I understand what you're trying to do. You want an alert to fire a scheduled email once a day which serves as verification that email notifications from alerts are working properly. Is this correct? -Craig
-
This would be a feature request. Got it.. thanks! -Craig
-
Hey Bryan, It kind of makes sense, but I'm not quite there. A picture would help a great deal here. Can you provide a rough diagram that shows your set-up? Thanks! Craig
-
mpayne- Thanks for the feedback. I have logged this feature request. -Craig

Although we support 2008, R2 is not supported for Orion.
