@"peter.lee" Hello, Just curious, what`s your use case for having one volume mapped to multiple LUNs?
-
Hi, Infinidated changed their API, and SRM needed to be updated. This was fixed in HCO 2023.1: Support for InfiniBox IO Performance Monitoring Using Live Counters documentation.solarwinds.com/.../srm_2023-1_release_notes.htm

Hi, As there were some votes recently on this idea I wanted to ask could someone go into more details on how do use you use replication and synchronization features and what would you like to monitor and see in SRM. You can private message me if you prefer and I will provide you with my Solarwinds email address. Cheers,
-
I don`t follow. Putting in more generic SRM terms: 1. Some Luns are used exclusively by hosts in one host group. 2. You want to see these LUNs grouped by the host group.

Hello, This is a great idea for a feature in SRM. Sadly SRM does not keep historic data for capacity runout fields. By default, the runout calculation is run once per 7 days. This is configurable through the Orion Advanced configuration page.

Hello, This query will show the IP Address and path to the share. SELECT fs.FileServer.FileServerIdentifications.IPAddress, fs.Path FROM Orion.SRM.FileShares as fs WHERE fs.FileShareID = 1 and fs.Type = 0 "fs.Type = 0" - Is filtering the query to NFS Exports
-
I don`t think there is quota monitoring for EMC Isilon. You can open a feature request through support.
-
Hello, Again this is not exactly what you want but this SWIS query: " SELECT TOP 1000 ElementType, MaxElementCount FROM Orion.ElementInfo " Provides the licenses size for element type - disks, and that should give you the current license size for SRM.
-
This will depend on the type of array. In general, if a file share does not have a quota set the capacity values will be equal to the NAS Volume capacity details.
-
Based on: Setting the SMI-S function - Hitachi Vantara Knowledge I would assume that all the VSP GX00 arrays have SMI-S implemented.
-
Yes, they should be supported. Dell SCv3020 should work as a Dell Compellent storage array. Dell ME4020 should work as a DotHill storage array.
-
Hi, As far as I know this feature is not available. Could you go into a little more details what would you like to see monitored?
-
If the Netapp upgrade was also from an older firmware version you will need to upgrade SRM as well. There was in SSL\TLS issues, that was fixed in the past.

Hi, I have come across this recommendation from EMC docs: "EMC recommends no more than five Symmetrix or CLARiiON storage systems per SMI-S Array Provider when used with VMM. EMC also recommends using the 64-bit version of the SMI-S Array Provider along with a multicore server with a minimum of 8 GB physical memory." Maybe…

Hi, There where similar posts before on the forum. EMC patched a security vulnerability that changes the way that authentication works. You will probably need to upgrade to SRM 6.6 HF 1.

All LUNs are in the Block Storage tab. All NAS Volumes and FileShare go to the File Storage tab.
-
I don`t think that is a use case. All of SRM status data is polled in one job and if it fails all entities will move into unreachable. There are 3 statuses that are not dependent on the data that is polled, but on other events: * Unmanaged - when user unmanages the array * Unreachable - when connection to the device is…
-
The "Topology" job for a storage array is polling (in general) LUN masking information. After a successful poll, it also triggers end to end mapping re-calculations.

Hello, EMC Data Domain is on SRM roadmap: What we are working on for SRM after v6.8 -- Updated on March 14, 2019 "Acronis, commvault, avamar" are backup software solutions so are not in the scope of SRM.
-
So on what paramater would you like to create the alert? "Space notice" as in alert me when free space is less than a fixed number?
-
Can you try to add the array using the "NetApp Filer (Direct Polling)" array type and providing data for Oncommand system manager, (not the OnCommand Unified Manager)? What version of OCUM (OnCommand Unified Manager) are you using?

Hi, This is a forum for the Storage Resource Monitor. If you have a question for NCM you can go to: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/community/network-management_tht/orion-network-configuration-manager If you have a general Orion Platform question you can try to start a discusion on the main page:…

Hi, SRM licensing is tied up with licensing for the STM product (SRM Profiler), so it does not work the same way as other Orion products. Of the top of my head the only advice I would give is to simply use the number of disks (available through SWIS and DB) and hardcode the license size that you have now: select…

Hi, Try to disable HWH polling, that`s the one major change from 6.6 to 6.7. There is a checkbox on the array\cluster edit page.

Hello, Please try to enrol this device as an EMC VMAX. Enrollment wizard entry: "EMC VMAX3 and VMAX All Flash Family (HYPERMAX OS) ". Regards

Hi, Yes, this info is comming from the SMI-S provider or it seems to be is missing from the SMI-S provider. The Dell Compellent on the Orion demo page is the same, so the info is probably not avaible: http://oriondemo.solarwinds.com/Orion/SRM/ArrayDetailsView.aspx?NetObject=SMSA:24

SRM is able to map Windows or VMware servers with storage that is connected to through FC or iSCSi. There is no difference between FC or iSCSi when adding a Storage Array in SRM.

Hi, SRM Profiler or "Storage Resource Manager" is on old product, based on java. SRM (Storage Resource Monitor) is part of the Orion suite. Over the years the diffrent in supported devices in growing. Some links: Dreams Come True - Storage on Orion is now in Release Candidate! Which arrays are supported by SRM and SRM…
