A good article which should help High Availability in NPM - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

We currently have an APE in addition to the main poller and with the APE's in the enclave you can talk to them through the main poller and have a single pain of glass and create maps and groups in much the same way and you would use it much like you do the main poller but you can use one web server. Jobs for keeping them…

Our NOC view is shown on a large screen behind us for the team and anyone to see. The 3 large green circles being the core devices in groups (along with main links) , along with AP's in groups and each building grouped up as well. I'm starting (slowly) to build up services on the right side. The newest addition being Skype…

Also see this thread: Node does not respond with the supplied read write snmpv3 credentials

It would seem you are using $swissconect and $swis somewhere as well as the connection string ? (+ Get-SwisData $swis 'SELECT TOP 1 I.Status, I.DisplayName FROM IPAM.IP ...) hence the connection string is wrong in the example above you are using $swisconnect ?

HI there yes that is correct because you are not linking devices and are linking cities it doesn't know which node to connect to what. With regards to your groups, yes from within the network atlas top left side you can 'group by' to select the groups names to select the Orion Object by so you can find them easier. Use…

Our networking NOC - overviews of each building including any custom pollers etc with the services that we are building up to the right side. Alerts, events and moonitored interfaces that are down to the right of the bottom view

Have you looked at "manage hardware sensors" on the settings page? the sensors are controlled by this Theres an enable and disable in there, in case someone has been turning them off!
-
Thats good news and thank you for letting us know, i'm setting up an additional poller on another site soon and so it will come in handy to know.
-
It says in the documentation that its a 'feature' that enables the local storage, using MSMQ of upto 1GB of polled data per poller in the event that the connection between polling engine and the database is temporarily lost. The question to the side is 'poller remotely available' MSMQ V.3 ?

Hi there this relates to this posting that someone has answered " Database maintenance has overdue." https://thwack.solarwinds.com/thread/88470

it should be running as a job is this what you are asking? which is in Configs - Jobs

Can you not create a report or tailor an existing one like the asset report ? if you select the relevant fields you should be able to do this ?
-
You might also try the poller tool that is within the install directory if you have access which might help you diagnose the problem, you can change the polling method in there and detect which if any its using, mine was in C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion

Was / is the admin guide you got when you downloaded your software or on the portal - useful ?
-
Traps are forwardable from the server, if you look for trap viewer (engineers toolkit if installed) on there you can set an action once you have created a rule to forward the trap onwards.
-
HI there have you tried doing this with Alert Central ? that might be able to help in that direction as its customisable.
-
Indeed, our DBA had to move part of the DB elsewhere once he found that memory optimised tables was being used. I dont know the whys or wherefors but everytime we upgrade they now look at the notes beforehand.
-
I add the APs as nodes - discover the AP range over night and then in the morning run a powershell script to add 'AP' to a custom field. from the wireless table Orion knows about from the controllers. Then you are just monitoring them as normal nodes. Obviously depends on your licence etc.

There is a converter from within Adobe I think its Adobe DC that you can convert PDFs to XML format.
-
Hi sdoray Are you using groups in the maps or are you creating maps and then adding the maps into an overal view? when you say component are you referring to a fan or power supply etc? or a custom poller you have created for it?

have you tried using the NT account log on when did it stop working by the way? what changed?
-
Likewise I have a similar/same issue because i'm using an additional poller I think, but shouldnt it be able to know? I get the nodes that are on there in the discovery and dont clear out unless i tell of course I choose to ignore the nodes. Mine lists them as 'NEW' found. Import Status: skipped, already monitored with…

We was having a similar issue and what seems to have solved it is the IIS settings where he set it to the correct certificate for the website. We are using server 2012 R2 We just have Type HTTPS Port 443 and IP address set and the SSL certificate set

Hi there hopefully this will help, quite an old thread though Cisco PoE Monitoring
-
Hi there would this sql give you it rather than needing MIBS it could already be in the entity table SOLVED: Display 3750 Stack member report on node summary page?
-
You can use SQL to join queries to pull nodes and using SWQL and also you could also try seeing if reports are any good to use on the dashboard. But Solarwinds is very flexible and I will be surprised if you cant.

No will be upgrading to NPM 12 as it has stack support added into it which is good news finally. unsure when FET support is coming though
