  • Thanks, Matthew. We were starting to think that an upgrade would be the answer so, that is the direction I think we are going to go.
  • I have about 40 websites, all internal, that I am trying to monitor. For most of them I will be using the HTTPS Monitor. We are using smart card authentication for access to about half of the websites. Most of those sites are reporting down (red). How do I properly monitor a website that is using smart card authentication?
  • Thanks for the info Jan, I wasn't sure if Orion used IP or System Name to ping for up down. We are using static IP addresses on our servers, so that shouldn't be an issue then. As I said I can ping my unknown status server from the Orion server both by FQDN and IP address. I even have been getting alerts on Windows Server…
  • When I look under the volume details for the Cached memory on this particular server there is a chart at the bottom of the screen on the right hand side that gives the details of the Volume Size. I can see where that chart is reporting different values. Throughout the early morning it seemed to be pretty constant at just…
  • We are running NPM 10.1.2 SP1. They really want us to test things here on the test network before we perform the action on the production network. So it would be nice to have an older eval version so that I can install it and then run through the upgrade procedure before attempting the the upgrade on the production…
  • Jan, I don't have any issues pinging the servers in question from my Orion server. Here is a question though. One of my servers in the unknown state is in the DMZ. I have to use the FQDN in order to ping that server by name. Under the Node Details section on the server node page under the DNS field it has the server name…
  • Ok, I found the poll now link, however, I am still getting reports of the cached memory being 100% even after clearing the cache. Is there a bug in the software version I am using or is there some setting that I don't have configured or configured correctly?
  • Thanks. Looks like I can get my SQL DBA to pull that info for me.

  • Mike, I go into Node Management and expand my server and check the check box next to the object that I am intterested in (Cached memory), however, I do not see a poll now link. Where do I need to look to find this?
  • I can probably put up a VM in the test envrionment and install a 30 day eval, but my most pressing need at the moment is to test the upgrade procedure. We are running a back level version and I need to upgrade to NMP 10.3.1. Are there any back level evals that I can install so that I can test the upgrade procedure?
  • The problem is that I am not given the option to select Table under Web Display. Late yesterday after noon I did finally figure out what I need to do. As I searched for the answer to this issue, I kept seeing references to a Universal Device Poller Status table that can be enabled and placed on the Node Details web page,…
  • Thanks, Jan. This is going to turn into a nightmare, because of our unwieldy change management process. I had looked at that compatibility matrix orginally and though that I was ok, then after I put my change in Solarwinds released 10.4. I changed gears an moved forward with 10.4 and never went back to look at the…
  • Elejeune, did you ever find a solution to this problem? I am experiencing similar problems. If anyone else has any ideas, I would like to hear your suggestions too.
  • Thanks for the information guys. I really appreciate it!
  • Well, fortunately, I found the Https monitor and just used a service domain account as the credentials and it tested sucessfully.
  • I have found that when I have an alert continue to execute the triggered action, even after disabling the alert, you need to either acknowledge the alert or just delete it from the active alerts. I believe that it may be caused because you have the action set to "Execute this Action repeatedly while the Alert is…
