Here is the Users's Guide for the AP9630/AP9631 Network Management Card 2. See chapter "Command Line Interface" beginning at page 18 of the PDF document. There you'll find a detailed description of the syntax for the commands available. Regards, Leonardo

As far as I know the AP9617/AP9618/AP9619 Network Management Cards have the menu interface (AOS 3.x.x), the new AP9630/AP9631 Network Management Cards have the command line interface (AOS 5.x.x). Regards, Leonardo

1) All reports I have defined in CatTools have the "Overwrite existing report file" checkbox enabled. So the report is deleted before the new report is created. 2) I hope there is another possibility... But I will create four smaller reports. The failing report gets error counters from all our switches in the company…

Here's the result: <NEWSESSION CatTools 3.6.0 28.09.2012 07:55:16> <PROTOCOL=SSH2> <DEVICE TYPE=Custom.HP.H3CSwitch> <ACTIVITY TYPE=Device.ConnectivityTest.Login> <ACTIVITY SCRIPT=C:\Programme\CatTools3\Scripts\Client.Device.ConnectivityTest.Login.txt> <USERS NAME FOR DEVICE=PVIESWFB0001> <C OK…

I just updated to version 3.5. It seems the change didn't make it to this release. Using the script "Client.Device.Update.Banner.txt" which is included in version 3.5 I get errors from the updated Cisco devices. I had go back to the script I had received from support. Let's wait for the next version... Regards, Leonardo

No, I didn't even know there is a -c switch! :-) It's a new network card model APC AP9630. The old one was model AP9617. It seems APC changed the user interface completely with the new firmware.

This is the updated script. Regards, Leonardo

@thewizards2k2: thanks for the information!

I also have a "Error info table" report including 92 switches which fails sometimes. Support told me to break up the report into several smaller reports.

Hi Wardini! Thanks for the script, now it works fine!
-
Thanks! I have attached the putty.log file to this post. Regards, Leonardo

An "Error info table" Report which includes 92 devices. It worked till last week. Jeff Nagle of Technical Support is working on the issue. He told me to split the report into several smaller reports.

Hi Steve, the 5200, 5800, 10500 are H3C switch models that HP took into their portfolio. The 2500 switch is a HP ProCurve switch. The command line interface is not the same. After usename & password the switch responds with <SWITCHNAME> When you issue the command "system-view" the switch answers with [SWITCHNAME] as you…

Hi Steve, the APC Network Management card has a FTP server for firmware update purposes. Besides you can login to this FTP server and retrieve the configuration as a plain-text file (config.ini). I used the standard Windows FTP client to access the FTP server running on the APC Network Management card. With the get command…

Is there another way to download an update? It's a bit annoying to have to fill in the register-your-name-to-download-a-free-version-of-CatTools page... It was much easier before. Regards, LLS71

FYI: it's also Case #145716 at SolarWinds.

You're right, Support sent me an updated Client.Device.Update.Banner.txt with which it works!

Hi! Have a look at the CatTools help (Activities/Activities List/Device.CLI.Send commands/...): "Within the commands, you can use a number of variables that are replaced by actual values when the commands are presented to the device. See the section Command Variables for a list of variables you can use." Variable Value…

That sounds interesting. We are about to buy stackable 2960 switches. Is the configuration of a 2960-stack different than that of a 3750-stack? In a 3750 stack one switch is the "master" and holds the config for all switches (and copies the config to the "members"). So you only have to copy the config from the master.…

Hi! How many switches are included in the report? I had to divide the X-Ref report for our headquarter location because CatTools couldn't handle the number of switches in the report (129). Now I have 4 reports (one per building) with fewer switches per report. Regards, Leonardo

I'm also looking for a summary of all available IOS snmp traps...
