Officially speaking we do not have an IOT strategy or policy. While we manage a 'guest' wireless system, any hardwired device must be approved by IT management. In a couple of our locations we do have some third party owned and managed cafeteria dispensing type devices or POS devices but that's it. Right now most are not…

I would love to see something around management of Solaris Containers. Kind of like what the Virtualization tab does for VMWare but for Sun Solaris. This is a huge issue for use as we don't have an easy way of relating containers to LDOMs to physical hardware. Being able to easily see this and to be able to set alerts…

When you see it go red, don't just look at the first block that shows red. Click them all and look at the changes and you will have your answer.
-
I agree I think the wording is incorrect. Esecially in one of the attached links is says specifically what it isn't so if you choose it then you get the wrong answer
-
Yes, please. I would like this as of three years ago.
-
Me too. My points didn't recalculate even thought I answered the question correctly

Reminds me of a job I had years ago at a small software developer. The president asked us to turn on firewall logging because the connections were so slow. When the first report/review was due it turns out he was mostly responsible for all the traffic to the various adult sites he was watching in his office. After he got…

Tough yes, but probably the weakest question yet. Probably could have been worded better.

Ultimately user experience is really the only thing that matters. yes, we can monitor all the individual nodes and interfaces and such, but the true indicator is always going to be the user experience. This becomes more true if your apps have redundancy throughout the layers, including the network. At this point i care a…

Luckily I have not spent much time on the front lines as an IT dude, but when it comes to stupid stories I have to mention the time at a previous company that our Global CIO insisted on relocating servers from a fully maintained and functional data center to a half-assed facility located in the basement of a building next…

Gee I wonder if there is a Solarwinds product that might help monitor these attacks?
-
So tell me, how useful will this function be if you don't own all three components (SAM, VMAN, & SRM)? I have NPM, SAM, IPAM, NTM, and WPM. What should my expectations be for how useful this will be? Len

Thanks for the reply, this makes the most sense and is pretty much what I figured it would be. I knew there would be limited functionality unless all tools were owned and in use. So, on a related note but different track, it seems that this is very Windows/VMWare/HV focused. A large portion of our critical infrastructure…

So, $1500 for another tool that should really have already been incorporated into NPM? As far as I am concerned this should be the built-in standard replacement for Network Atlas. Nickels and dimes, nickels and dimes.

I still think choice B should be out especially in light of what the blog post says.

I have to say that the first question was totally bogus and I got an X. When you give examples of a particular situation and then contradict it with an answer to a question you are setting up people to fail. Consistancy would be nice but now my week and overall goal of winning is over on the first question.
-
And that's exactly what I got wrong. I think it was poorly worded and the question incorrect.
-
I have to agree with others. The video clearly gives the answer but if you select it it tells you you are wrong. Something's fishy here.
-
Ours is a lights out operation so this is what it looks like.
-
JKuvlesk, Thanks for the reply, but pardon my boldness when I say this doesn't truly address the question I asked. I understand that if i were to add VMAN and SRM I would have better insight, but the original question is how useful this function will be without owning those. If the answer is unknown that is okay, but if…

We reran config manager also and it fixed a lot. I had to delete a ton of 'critical' volumes and then readd them in most cases. Sometimes they were just duplicates. Hopefully this isn't a recurring issue. The time spent cleaning up would hamper daily maintenance activities.

As time goes on I am more convinced this is related to VCenter running on server 2012R2. Our server team upgraded another VCenter server to 2012R2 and now I am having the same problem. VCenter on this box is still 5.1.0.

It was in the original post, SW (739760)

Thanks for the reply. I just needed confirmation that I've hit a dead-end.
-
Sweet, that worked just fine. Thanks!

Is there any special rights or permissions the account must have in UCS to get this info? Like admin rights?
-
Thanks for the reply. As to user accounts, we use all AD integrated accounts so having local accounts that people would sign in and out of to use these tools doesn't make any sense to us. As to #2 that's why I suggested that maybe it be included with the higher licensed systems. I agree that somebody who has only a couple…

Hi everyone, By searching through many posts in this forum I was able to create a most basic of report which will provide the current and future schedule of unmanaged nodes. The one piece missing is tying back to 'who did the unmanaging'. I think this would be key for audits and tracking info. I know that there is a field…

Yes, We have been having a lot of discussion and we are currently being told that this problem has been sent to the Developers to address. So basically we are in a hold state until someone can provide us with a solution

Sorry, my bad, I forgot to run the second one. Yes, I do have one line item that returned a set of zeroes. It is a LAN side I/F. I removed the Optimized I/F ID from this device in order to test, and the report ran. I am not sure why this device isn't reporting PreTotalBytes or PreTotalPackets properly. I see traffic on the…
