I am able to connect to the root WMI class locally on the server in question using the credentials that im trying to specify when setting up the AppInsight for IIS monitoring. Wbemtest.exe is launched on the server i want to setup IIS monitoring for and im connecting to itself using the IP address and that works fine.

Quite right, if you have a hybrid Cloud/Internal infrastructure i would expect there to be a WAN network or dedicated VPN in which you would not need a firewall as it would be seen as your internal network preventing the need to expose orion to the open world.

I am going to break them apart on separate servers, had a quick webex with support. The most wait times are on Memory/CPU which i can see happening in all fairness. Having both on one box seems to be causing me the issues, i knew it would be i just needed a push from SW to confirm. Thanks for your response.

AppInsight for IIS does appear when i do a list resource, i can add it in from there but when i click configure i get the below? Does the Inherit credential use the agent as its account so to speak? But even if i specify an admin account that is created on that server it still fails.

We are using VMware and licensing our VM SQL Servers with core based licensing. I dont believe you have to license the underlying ESXI hosts. Plus if we did, we are running x4 Socket 10 core CPU's (40 Cores, 80 Threads per node) in our VMware cluster so it would get very very expensive!
