Thank-you Roger! I started out by using Component Name is equal ... But after all of this, it appears it just needs the full path name to APMSERVICECONTROL in order to work, for whatever reason. So, here is what works for me! C:\Program Files\Solarwinds\Orion\APM\APMServiceControl.exe ${ComponentId} Thanks again!!!

We have this very same issue and really need that VMAN Datasource Sync Wizard you've mentioned. We manually try to match all of our applications to their virtualized resources. So, maybe this will help automate some of this work.

I'll be happy to do that. Thanks.

WARRENM14, I'm trying to set this up with ACS 5.2. What does your PATH look like to your SFTP server? I'm not getting mine just right (I guess that's my problem). Thanks.

thanks GOB - great work - works like a charm... question - i'd like a single View each for 1 Day then another for 7 Days then last one for 30 Days rather than allowing my user to use EDIT when they needed to change sensitivity. how can i do this? i intend to use this scheme for only a certain group and will be using a SQL…

Peter, I can get there now with WBEMTEST or WMI EXPLORER but the class/instance seems empty of property values. I just see MicrosoftTpm. Any idea why? Can you insert a screenshot of what your WIN32_TPM came back with? Thanks.

BRANDON, Can you help me sort this out? take a look at this document: http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsp_4_snmp_config.pdf on the first page it states the following: “If your management application depends on Net‐SNMP but does not need to interact with VMware MIBs, you only need to configure Net‐SNMP on the ESX host.…

I don't understand why we're also having this issue then. I have opened a case for this Case #162261 Thanks. ATTN: KJBRO Is still an issue with you as well?

all my Solarwinds Services are "Local System" btw - there are new domain policies which can put restrictions even on PowerShell now. this could bite you.
-
Thanks for the feedback. We are moving away from it only because of high costs for maintenance renewals.

Hmmmm. I just got an update on my issue - said it will be fixed when the next service pack (SP3) comes out - whenever that will be...

jeffnorton: i can't get those OIDs to work with a 6509: Cisco Systems WS-C6509 Cisco Catalyst Operating System Software, Version 6.1(1c) Copyright (c) 1995-2000 by Cisco Systems any ideas why? could it be a difference between using CATOS as opposed to using IOS? are you using IOS on your 6509?

i disagree. that's the point of publishing it dynamically - it will only ever display if there's something set Unmanaged. of course you can always include the From date also. thanks.
-
No problem! Case now opened.

Eric, You might also check your logs in the next hop device (switch or router) from your Orion server. I could see where a route change (or ARP issue) could generate this rather than the fault be your Orion server. Good Luck!

Over the past months we've had a slow migration away from the CA UNICENTER product (NSM) which uses a local "System Agent" installed on the server being monitored. Part of their System Agent includes file monitoring - Delta Changes, Timestamp, Size, etc. It is pretty great it what it can do. Is there anything coming up in…

sorry - i did fail to mention that SNMP past the aggregator - that is, the side with the DSL-Cable-T1 links, is not doable. those actually plug into simple hubs (no SNMP available) so i can't use Custom Bandwidth on those interfaces. if any place, it would have to be at the Fast Ethernet at the aggregator. they are…

As for isolating it to the exact Component ID - it works by using the number instead of the ${ComponentId} I have it working now - thanks for the help :)

FYI If I execute from a command line it will work and start the service, it's just not working within the Alert ACTION. C:\Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\APM>apmservicecontrol 2654 -c=START SolarWinds APM Service Control Connecting to localhost:17777 [Name ] - Spooler [DisplayName] - Print Spooler [Status ] - Start:…

There's a global command statement for the Pix...something like management-access inside which allows one-to-one with your Pix and the NMS like Orion. It works along with whatever you set for your IP Address Inside x.x.x.x y.y.y.y Good luck!

I got 'em working now - looks great - I likey!

i first selected property NODE, then changed to INTERFACE. added a Condition, selected NODE, then Current Response Time, then Percent Loss. it's working with Interfaces for me, I saw two events come in earlier from a SonicWall firewall with it's WAN & LAN interfaces with percent loss.

Here's the finished report. It started as out-of-the-box but I expanded on it. The NODES.COFB_CIRCUIT is a Custom Property. And like I said - it looks great in Report Writer's Preview but not in Orion. In Preview it shows ASC Node Down - Node Up in correct order but it is reversed in Orion. SELECT Events.EventTime AS…

One more thing. What I'm trying to do is alert whenever this folder changes is size from what it currently is. If files get moved or new files come in then I wanted to alert on that.

Hey John, In your email example with the line "The Backup Server Service has stopped." What would the variable be? ${vbData?} or exactly what? Thanks.
-
Yes that works now...Thanks. Can you tell me how I would use this product to locate a 'rogue' device on the network?
-
Yes I had seen that entry for 'IPHONE' and checked that MAC vendor and no record found. That might be a made-up MAC I guess... But I'm very curious about how it picks up MACs especially from wireless controllers. What I have in Orion today seems completely independent of each other, that is, MACs for physical switches &…

Case #314922
-
well i just missed that entirely...thanks i appreciate knowing it does collect on that and once Statistical Data is included we're set.
-
that's the point of my problem... there appears to not be any collected data on STATISTICAL DATA. if i query it, all i get is the immediate value of the counter.
