This one is implemented in 2020.2 RC. See https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/NCM-Feature-Requests/Firmware-upgrades-access-for-non-admin-users/idc-p/593598#M2075 for more information!

I think my request is related to this one in regards to firmware upgrades.
-
@"ioan_bucsa" YES! I can confirm that firmware upgrades now works (in 2020.2 RC) when you only have the WebUploader role. It also only applies for devices which the user/group is limited to (in my case I use System Location).
-
I think my request can be merged with this one, it concerns the same topic - non-admin users should be allowed to do firmware upgrades on devices or a subset of devices. https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/NCM-Feature-Requests/Delegate-firmware-upgrades-to-users-e-g-junior-admins/idi-p/565285 My organization almost have the…

@"ioan_bucsa" Sounds promising!

I have the same issue but when running the Config Wizard for NCM (did a offline install)! I have a new VM (Windows Server 2019) with 16GB RAM, only 26% used. I'll open a ticket with the support and send them the diagnostics. Will post here again once solved.

Just want to inform anyone that might still be interested, that after doing a complete reinstall where I first installed NPM and then NCM it worked to import the new poller. I have not bought a licens for NPM so it's not useable, sine the 30 day trial is over, but the imported poller still works and shows the correct…

OK, I have made somewhat progress. I carefully reed the prerequisites for using self services like SNTC here: https://supportforums.cisco.com/blog/12600946/self-service-onboarding-register-get-access-smart-net-total-care-portal After making sure the first and second point was correct I turned my focus towards the third:…

Free? Only the air we breath is free my friend. We pay for NCM and all it's features. Don't think we don't like the product, we do! But we still think it's wrong to pay for another module/product just to be able to get the first to function fully. I will try NPM and probably we like it too. But I hope we don't need to buy…

I have now been able to upload a device that is discovered by using SNMPv2c. Normally I use SNMPv3 but I noticed that according to the "SolarWindsNCMConnectorUserGuide.pdf" SNMPv3 was not supported. But to my disappointment I still have the same error (System Description is missing), see attached image. And still I do not…

Ok, so I can try out NPM for 30 days. Import the new poller and it will work even if I decide to not use NPM any more? It seems not right to buy NCM and then have to buy NPM just to make NCM work. Not even for a tiny "problem" like this one.
-
Ok, so there is now way I can get the correct values? I have to buy NPM too for that to work?
-
I have no option to import pollers. This is what I see. And I have tried to login both with my domain account and the built in Admin account. Do I miss something... I'm using NCM, do I need the NPM to be able to import pollers?
-
Great! I have downloaded the cisco.poller but cant figure out how to import it in Network Configuration Manager. I have found 8 pollers from SolarWinds Native Poller under Settings > Manage Pollers in the web console. But how do I import this new poller?
-
Hi parikhdinesh, Nope, not yet. But it's kind of good to know I'm not alone.
-
Hi designerfx, Yes, it's kind of obvious. But since neither Cisco or SolarWinds have asked me (when we made some troubleshooting) about it I guess I just thought it was of no importance. But then the question is, where do I find this System Describtion? Is it some data inherent to NCM or does NCM retreive this information…

Have Cisco made their magic yet? Successfull?
-
Yes, I will use that feature too! I have different production teams across Europe doing initial configurations of customer equipment by using Config Change Templates, since knowledge of CIsco cli is almost none and somewhat cause it's fast (time is of essence). I will then use Compliance Reporting to follow up that…

Just an update to show how I finally solved it. Thanks again zerocool for pointing me in the right direction! /* ... output omitted... */ script UpgradeIOSImage ( NCM.Nodes @ContextNode, string @IOSImage ) { string @URL='scp://username:password@ip-address:' + @IOSImage CLI { copy @URL flash:@IOSImage } }
-
That did it, now it works! Thanks!
-
Thank you Bill! Great to be of any help to someone!
-
Ok, so it will be an update to SolorWinds Orion when dev. team is ready?
-
Yep, did that, but no luck. Will try something else to see if that works.
-
Hi CourtesyIT, Thanks, I had to add "*/" after the last .PARAMETER_LABEL statement then the script validated successfully. I then ran the script but with the same result, I cannot see the new user created. Not in running or in startup config. Does the script works for you? Or anyone else that get this script working? I…

Thanks alot! This will really help!

Hi esther823, Check your firewall log to see if you can see any connection attempt from your NPM server towards smtp.google.com? If you can't see any traffic hitting your firewall try to telnet from the NPM server towards smtp.google.com on the same port your are using in NPM (25, 465, 587). If you till can't see any…

Hi jungar, If you logon to the Customer Portal (Customer Portal Login | SolarWinds ) then in the top menu choose My Downloads under License Management and you will find the latest Connector in the ADDITIONAL DOWNLOADS section.
-
Ok, I have installed the new version (1.2 I think) of NCM Connector for Cisco SmartAdvisor but I still have the exact same error message as before. I REALLY like this connector... or more the potential it has to make us in "control" of our service agreements. What to do? *sigh*

I had a couple of webex's with jeff.stewart and a technician some months ago and they collected logs and stuff. Hopefully there will be a solution for the problem with partial SNMP data in any future release of the Collector tool. For now it's not working for us. But I think it have such potential, this tool, that my…

Hi Jeff, I just tested to deploy a new image to a router with not enough space on flash and just as you say I got the option to delete the current image. Should have tested before I spoke... thanks for a fast reply! Thanks, Kristofer
