  • I am having problems getting the 'search string' feature to work, my HTTP monitor finds the web site ok and shows up but I wanted definate proof that the web page is coming up however I have tried various peaces of data that appear in web page in the search string field and all fail. Am I missing something obvious, I have…
  • I have checked 2 of the Servers that are returning errors, one doesn't appear to have a scope defined for the subnet but this had been working in the past, the second server I checked does have a scope defined in the subnet and there are plenty addresses available but again it isn't working returning the exception message…
  • We are running v9.1.0 of Solarwinds, I am trying to find out the version of software running on our 8310's. All that is displayed is the port numbers for the 8310's, where we have added labels for the ports thise is not displayed, I have run a mib browser and confirmed that the 8310 don't return this information just using…
  • Hi, I have been unable to show the individual size of the memory modules on these servers but am able to see the total memory for each board and the status of each memory chip which is sufficient for my needs, this is done in two tables on my node details screen as follows, The memory summary table takes information from…
  • Chris, As detailed in my original post those OIDs don't work, I am already using them successfully on my older servers but I now have a few new DL380 G6's that don't return the information. I don't suspect a support pack issue because I am able to retrieve the information using Insight Manager but for your info we are…
  • Vinay, We do require the charts and even if we didn't we have a lot of different views I would have to edit, I have had to change things in the past when updating the version of NPM this would be a step too far, its a case of grin and bear it for us.
  • If the report tells me that Oracle is installed then of course that would do the trick but the only Asset report I have is just showing the Operating System which is insufficient as I know they are all running Windows
  • The Status and Drive Location information are pulled by two separate UnDPs as follows, Drive Status: Drive Location:
  • The widget is already added, as per my original question, its the data that isn't being returned and the 'Next Poll' time is old. SNMP information is being returned but the 'ping' information isn't.
  • I have searched for the file referred to (thumbs.db) and this doesn't exist in that folder and the problem is still apparent. I am unable to acess any of the graphics in the imported folder (via Network Atlas) currently and when I try to it throws up the error and kicks me out. The folder that is referred to in the email…
  • I thought I was on to something here but the 15e3 value doesn't exist in my netpath.min file and just changing the 15000 in the netpath.js file didn't resolve the issue, any ideas?
  • Unfortunately the Microsoft SNMP agent doesn't support version 3 and I agree with Terry about Net-SNMP being difficult to set up for version 3 on windows as I am trying to do the same thing at the moment and although I have been able to set up version 2 I am finding it impossible to set up version 3 of Net-SNMP and I have…
  • I have looked at this again and I believe I will have a problem as the SAM server is Windows 2003 whereas our Exchange 2010 server is Windows 2008, also the SAM server is 32 bit whereas the Exchange Server is 64 bit. I haven't seen anywhere that says you can install the Exchange Management Tools 2010 on Windows 2003 32…
  • If there is a quick method to get at the 95th percentile figures displayed at the bottom of the graphs then this would help. I would of course still want to know why there is a discrepancy between these figures and any report I have so far been able to run. Thanks.
  • azsmitty, I have tried usingf both remote and local, the errors are different depending on which I use as follows, Remote Host: Test failed with "Down" status on server Local Host: Filename not found John
  • Chris, Unfortunately I can't get past line 3, it says one or more computer names is not valid, I am using the FQN of the exchange server so not sure whats going on. John
  • I am just monitoring a web page and checking that I can log on, it actually works for a while without a problem then for no apparent reason goes into the 'Unknown' status. For example it has been working for 18hrs ok as I write this. I would of expected if the page wasn't available that I would get an unavailable status. I…
  • Currently we are using APM 3.0 and I use the 'HTTP Form Login Monitor'
  • Unfortunately I can't do it this way as I mentioned in my original post I can't find any files with the names I assigned to the icons, its as if the application has changed the names or encrypted them. Surely someone must know how to do this, why are the simplest of things so hard on Orion. :-(
  • Like I said in my original post I don't know SQL so I wouldn't know how to write a report similar to the All Triggered Alerts table as this isn't a report available to me in the report writer.
  • I followed this thread the whole way through in the hope I would be able to get a report that gives me the availability of interfaces selected by a custom property only to find none of these suggestions will run in report writer. Unlike others report writer is all I have, surely there must be a way round the syntax error…
  • Thanks, I will be able to use that when only requiring information on one node. In this case as it turned out I needed some stats from 2 nodes, the stats being Universal Device Poller charts which are displayed on the node details screen for each of the nodes. I have worked out how to get the information I required as…
  • I have tried selecting the node already but I can't see how I can reproduce the table and chart that is on the Node Details page on the report, the table and chart on the node details screen are using data from Universal Device Pollers.
  • As your WMI query failed it could be that your WMI has got corrupted in some way I would suggest trying a repair, I am sure I have done this in the past using powershell but can't remember the exact process but the following link might be a start. Use PowerShell to Troubleshoot and Repair WMI Errors | Hey, Scripting Guy!…
  • Thanks for the information, I have added the Exchange servers using WMI now and it is indeed returning the correct space available for the databases, this is great but I do need to keep the servers on with SNMP too as this is giving me hardware status on disk drives, memory, fans, cpu etc using UnDP and that is vitally…
  • I can confirm that the update to SAM 6.2.1 did fix the link on the Exchange databases I no longer get the 'Object Reference Not Set to an Instance of an Object', I have noticed however that the Exchange Database Free Volume Space that is being displayed is incorrect, it is showing all our Database as having the same free…
  • Maria, Thats just what I wanted, I can tidy up my imported graphics files now, thank you, Regards, John
  • I have gone through the complete trail here but still experiencing rendering issues on all my network drawings, has anyone else found a different fix from the above which I have either tried or wasn't relevent, thanks
  • Unfortunately I am unable to follow your link as it says I don't have permission. I did raise a call with Solarwinds and they have sent me a fix which I have already seen on this site but one of the files netpath.min is a JScript Script file and I don't know how to edit it, I am waiting for them to get back to me.
  • I must admit I have never had flapping issues on a node down alert unless of course the server is bouncing. I don't know why you are using the additional condition of node percent loss is greater than 40% but I suspect that might be the cause of the flapping but you could remove that condition and test the alert to prove…
