I reinstalled the syslog server now the Display is working and the log file is being created. Filter test still fails on the IP Address but we are adding another host to see if it is just the test that is the issue and the rule does still work.

Also I have an action to send to a file and that isn't working. It is as if only the default works. I even disabled the default rule and ensure my new rule was enable and no difference everything shows up in display 0(default) and no log file is created.

It is the share. I have moved the hotfix folder up to C:\LEM-v6.2.0-Hotfix1 and shared the manager folder out so when I connect to the share I am connecting to \\<ipaddress>\manager. Same problem with red x showing next to the IP range start and end. Also I set up the new rule to show on a different display and it isn't working. It is acting like the rule I create doesn't get applied. I have it turned on so it should be at least sending all the data to the display I chose.

Thanks all, I had not figured it out. I had even spoke with Solarwinds support and they mentioned some root access to fix the issue but it turned out that applying the hotfix was not as urgent as originally thought, so I will wait until the next release to work any issues. energized with this new information I have to try…
