To have one stop shopping when running a report to show my entire Cisco inventory would be great. I have a mix of 2960x and 3750's with multiple switches stacked on them. I can run the seperate report for the 3750's then merge that info into a master report, but if there was one report that did it all, now that would be…

Looks like I just found my own suggestion in NCM, but not sure if this can be done with NPM. From reports choose view reports, then chose Physical Entities> Physical Entities (Serial Number) v2. After running this report it incuded all the information I needed to include all stack members of 3750's and 2960x's and my VSS…

I love the direction you're taking with NCM, however, I have one concern. With the merge of the NCM db into the Orion db, when I delete a node all currently stored data about inventory, configs, etc are lost. Is there a way we can preserve any of this info like configs before removing the node from Orion?

This definitely needs to be an option. In the past I have always monitored power supplies, fans, etc, as undp's, but not sensors on a gbics.

I just upgraded and took less than an hour. After the install it took about 30m to upgrade all the history tables, during this time the system was slower than normal.

That is exactly what I was looking for, thanks for pointing out the obvious. I dont believe I never saw that, I are SMART.

Can you tell me how to schedule a job to download a config and point it to a seperate directory other then that of the config archive. I can not do this, and this is what the basis of this whole thread is about. Its not about what you have been pushing - running a script that does a show run of every router and switch and…

My database is about 30g.

I let my session time out, and when I look into the task manager and I see Configuration Wizard Not responding, is it still doing its thing? Bret

This is really good information to know, I surely would have thought there were a problem had I not read this thread. Thanks to everyone. Bret

Yes I know the config archive can do this, but for simplicity I would like to have the files in a different directory. My current Config Archive has over 826 different directories from our current back up routine, and I dont use all of these files. I would want to keep the stuff I do for DR separate from this.

No other modules installed and the DB is on another box.

Mark, is this a hot fix for the PIX problem and will I have any problems?
-
I think that about sums it up netlogix.

So, if I am upgrading to V8.1 and my dB is 29g should I allow a couple hours for the upgrade to complete? Is there a way that I can speed up this install?

Thanks bud. How are you monitoring your environmentals of the 7010. Do you have a custom UnDP set it up for them? Bret

We to are looking to move Network Performance Monitor to VM. Can everyone please share their experiences over the last couple months. I know this is an old thread but the technology has changed drastically. Network Elements2996 ElementsNodes653 NodesInterfaces2313 InterfacesVolumes30 Volumes I look forward to your…

I could see the benefits of having the individual files. For example. We are currently going thru a DR exercise next month and the devices we will be working with will have no configs, ie our cores 6513, 7206VXR, multiple 3560's, a CSS, and many more. If I take my config backups I do every night, I could put them on a…

Thanks Jedi. Ive stopped and started the Node Monitoring several times now, and no dice. Is there a magic number as to how many times I have to stop it, and then start it again? Edit: It started working when I restarted Cirrus with Netowrk Discovery on. This is bad, as Network Discovery makes Cirrus so slow and almost…

Thanks Dave, but I have checked and rechecked. I am getting logs to the syslog server. Im just not getting BGP logs. I have marked out the IP's, but in the capture you can see what Im getting and the same info in the capture is also reflected in my syslog buffer. But my syslog buffer contains %BGP-5-ADJCHANGE: neighbor…

Now that you guys are mentionig it. I am having problems adding my firewalls to Orion. I have over 500 firewalls added now, and since the upgrade I can not add a new one. It worked before the patches and now it does not. If support can jump on this it would be appreciated. If I try to add a new node using SNMP V1 it…

Thanks for all the help guys, and thanks Mithril for putting that updated file out there I will apply next week. I must say that this is really cool, I showed my boss and he thought it was awesome as well. I did pass the kudos on Mithril so you know, good job man and thanks for the new feature. If no one else is running…

Thanks Haley, but unfortunately given the amount of switches and the locations it would not be a viable solution to replace the IPs. Is there not another way to do this?
-
Thanks LadaVarga! Couple questions. How can I filter it, so only acknowledged alerts are displayed and who acknowledged the alert?

Im not a DB guy, but does different versions of SQL support different amounts of RAM. Bret

Im still left wondering why the "windows service monitor" is not in service and is red. Ah, I'll just delete it and go you route alterego.

Darn check boxes. This check box got me stuck for over an hour before I conceded and looked on the forums. Thanks guys.

You are absolutely correct bleearg13 creating a job to do a show run will work; however, this is not what borgan wants. So to simplify it and re-iterate what I previously posted. He wants to be able to email his config as a .txt file for his router/switch assuming Cisco, not as an email with the config as results.

I just downloaded v10. Are there any gotchas I need to be worried about before upgrading? Thanks for your help, Bret

Ok, so I did a packet capture. My packet capture revealed that I am getting logs from the router. As a test I shut, then no shut a local interface and the proper logs got sent to buffer. Then I did a clear ip bgp x.x.x.x and the logs were written to buffer. But when I look at my packet capture for these logs they are not…
