LOL.. Network team is 12 staff about half of them are Full time Network guys that are mostly within the Datacenter Team. The other half has some responsibility with the Server and Desktop teams. When I say Network Team, I mean Network like switches, routers, cabling, Riverbeds, etc (true meaning of Network ) The only…

Thanks for the Hook-up on the new Eval Key.. you made my Friday.. at least until some else hits the fan
-
Yes, please as well.. We have more than 300+ Palo Altos..
-
I agree.. with have over 600 UPSes deployed.. We started just to manually editing the config.ini and FTP'ing it back onto the box. Sadly, APC only support the download of the config.ini via FTP and WEB UI.. How can I mass configure an Network Management Card (NMC) or NMC embedded product?
-
I like to call it the "Model T" method.. Every network exactly same (when possible) like a Ford Model T.. you can have whatever color you want as long as it Black. The Model T was one of the first cars that had interchangeable parts, which mean we generally use the same network manufacture and model in every office.. So,…

I agree with using custom properties.. I use the heck out of them.. Here a Sample of some of them.. Then you can easily create views on Region or Country, etc.. Custom properties are your friend in solarwinds.. Ken

Could you guys make it so that we could get another 30 Day eval when you installed 7.2 on a computer that once had 7.1?? So, that I can test it before deploying it production.. Wasted too much time already on this just to find out I'm Expired.. and before someone suggest that I should just spin it on a VM, I don't have…

I second this request! Also a button to disable Route monitoring..
-
@"rschroeder" I 100% agree!
-
Nice! Looking forward t eventually testing this out... we have almost 900 Meraki APs deployed.

same here

Our issues is that we have a fairly large IT Team (500+) with Team Silos that all use different tools. So, only the network team using Solarwinds just to monitor network team devices. Server Team has their tools, SQL Team has their tools, etc

If you have the custom properties defined, you probably just need to edit the Resource to have the grouping on those custom properties.. So this would look like this: I hope this helps, Ken
-
we're running 2020.2.4 as well.. not sure of the cause of the issue and to be truthful not sure when it broke as we hadn't modified dashboards in a while. Ken
-
Thank you, the configuration wizard fixed it.. I also noticed that it was only broken on our additional WWW server. Ken

just curious what CMDB are using? Does it rhyme with CircusNow?

I actually meant to say that we had issue with the code on our EX8208s not 8600s (we have some Nortels on the network.) We're currently running 10.4r7 so far the most stable code for us. We had been bug chasing through the early versions of 10. We'll probably be stay here for a while.. When I was polling the following OIDs…

Paul, What verison of JunOS are you running? We have had mulitple issues with JunOS doing very basic networks operations. At one point, I was pulling the router table using snmp and it was causing the CPU on our 8600s to sawtooth from 50 to 90 every 6 hours. I would lean toward an issue with the JunOS code verus an issue…

Did you break the collegue's fingers? I rarely allow any of my collegues to customize to views. They have to funnel propose changes to me for consideration and implementation of the change. If you don't you run into issue like you had and/or you'll find the default time periods of graphs under node details to be all over…
-
Christine, Could you also send me the templates? As I'm reviewing NCM 6.0 and I don't want to brick any of my switch like I did when evaling NCM 5.0. Thanks

I would like to see your script

It's funny that solarwinds decided to issue warning for a FAN running at full speed. However, Juniper won't issues a Chassis alarm for the same condition.. I don't think that it a feature request that is needed, as it more of a bug fix request.. I'll just tell my staff to ignore the hardware sensors and it should be fix in…

Totally, agree with TheG0at.. Alert has been disabled..

Welcome to the Solarwinds Family.. I would really take a look at numerous videos that the Solarwinds team has created over the years.. Here's a couple of link for you to take a look at: https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/SolarWinds-Lab-Archive/bg-p/solarwinds-lab-archive https://www.youtube.com/user/solarwindsinc…

Are you look for something like this? The only way that I've found is get the SNMP Card model and version is to extract fro the SNMP Description using a Custom Node Poller..
-
We're currently focusing our Pandemic response monitoring on Active VPN/Remote Users and our WAN Circuits utilization.. 1. Active VPN/Remote user monitoring.. We're a Palo Alto Shop so we're using Global Protect VPN client so we monitoring our GP GW with OID - 1.3.6.1.4.1.25461.2.1.2.5.1.3 panGPGWUtilizationActiveTunnels .…

When i have polling issues.. I'll do a repair of the Job Engine.. I'm not sure if that exactly fixes but to do the repair you stop and restart services which might also be fixing the issue. Here's the link to the how to..…

I think that the problem could be related to the APC Galaxy UPS management card and solarwinds UPS poller functionality. But I can't personal verify it cause the Galaxy uses the Latest card NMC4. I only have NMC 2/3.. @"aLTeReGo" Is this something that you can verify? Thanks.. Ken

It really depends on the what the previous admin has done with Solarwinds and the state that of the Solarwinds integration into your environment. You just inherited a powerful toolset so it really depends what was done with and the state of the it. I would recommend the following: * Document your Solarwinds Infrastructure,…
