WOW! Do it now! Thanks!

Have submitted a trouble ticket. Will relay results/fix when I get it.

I am having the same issue. Support said I am probably sending a type 9 NetFlow from somewhere, but I do not think that I am. I have had to set up a utility to restart the NetFlow service on my Orion server. It has been stopped the last 4 mornings that I have come in.

I restarted the services. I tried deleting and recreating the node. The real crazy thing is the database shows the correct filename for the gif in the VendorIcon column in the Nodes Table.....
-
Same icon remains after "Rediscover"

Thanks! Now I see the icons correctly from the web view, but the "unknown" icon is still there in the console. Will it update on its own? I placed the .gif file with the vendor id number in the \Program Files\SolarWinds\Orion\Maps\Vendors folder.

How can you identify a vendor ID? I have several devices which come up unknown. Specifically I need vendor IDs for Redback, Valere, AFC and NextLevel.

Something else to keep in mind is that sub-interfaces which you may not want to monitor send flow information once the physical interface flow is enabled. I opened a Cisco TAC case and they said there is no way to "turn off" the flow for the subinterfaces. We have ATM interfaces with hundreds of subinterfaces for DSL…

A short answer is no. We simply forward our dns info up to our major provider via the ip name-server XX.XX.XX.XX command. So, we do all our monitoring etc. on our subscriber network via IP and not hostname.
