Got this strange error when trying to install.

My understanding is that the MSFT server supports SNMP V3 polls but not V3 traps.

Sorry, I'm missing the context for the original post from which you quoted yourself. Can you explain exactly what the problem was and the expected resolution on our side? If it's something that should have made 5.5.1, then I'd certainly like to chase that down. These three lines are missing from all of the CatOS templates:…

I thought I saw another post that said that the Kiwi trap server would be integrated into Orion and that the MSFT one would no longer be used?

WORKAROUND: Here's an update on a workaround in the meantime: 1. Add the interfaces you want to receive CBQoS data about as monitored NetFlow sources. They do NOT have to be sending NetFlow data to NTA. This tells NTA to store the CBQoS data in its tables rather than discarding it. 2. Add the CBQoS resources to your Orion…

I called SolarWinds and within 5 minutes they sent me these lines to add to the Device Template for CatOS: <Command Name="MenuBased" Value="false"/><Command Name="VirtualPrompt" Value="(enable)"/><Command Name="VirtualEnablePrompt" Value=" "/> I am amazed that this fix did not make it into NCM 5.5.1!! Come on, guys, you…

I'm wondering if there's a way to manually manipulate the database such that netflow endpoints which are added manually can then be set to gather CBQoS statistics? This would be enormously helpful to us!!

After upgrading my NCM to 5.5 I now have the same problem with my CatOS devices. This problem was not present in the 5.0 release! Can anyone help?
-
I'm experiencing the exact same problem. In my case I started out using SQL Express on the local box then I moved the database to a remote SQL cluster. I uninstalled all of the SQL Express components. Is that what did this? I have opened a ticket and I'll report back what I find out.

Here's a suggestion for you: don't mingle this with NTA. CBQoS is an SNMP "pull" whereas Netflow is a push. It was never clear to me why CBQoS was made part of NTA and not NPM. In my case a firewall is preventing netflow packets from reaching Orion but I can SNMP poll.

All, Based on your feedback I decided to do a little more research into this problem and it may not be as widespread as I had thought. If you intend to use the Blackberry browser then there are two or three issues that must be overcome: 1. Disable Windows Pass Through Authentication: The Blackberry browser chokes on this.…

Sorry for the double post but this thread is happening under two topics. Here's a cut and paste from the other thread: All, Based on your feedback I decided to do a little more research into this problem and it may not be as widespread as I had thought. So, is the IOS that I mentioned that we are using belongs to the IOS 12.2 SX flavors?Im sorry, im not so sure if its within the same family where the bug occurs..and I already looked into the IIS Manager settings, i can't seem to find the URL scan tool that you mentioned..can you please guide me on this one?maybe I'm a…

Is there any more update on this?
-
Well I just got off the phone with Rick, the Manager of the TAC group that deals with such things. He was very apologetic and finally was able to tell me what I already knew: The fix for this bug has not yet been ported to the 12.2SX train yet which is what 6500's use. He is going to get that moving ASAP. I asked him if…

Jonesy, yes that's exactly how it looks. Prior to the 8/3 service pack, NTA would detect CBQoS enabled interfaces (which were not Netflow sources) and automatically add them to the list. The last service pack seems to have broken this.

I looked back at my original ticket and the issues with disappearing/reappearing interfaces started when I upgraded to 9.0 SP1. I was given some special DLLs by support, which stopped the problem. I believe that SP2 contained the fix for this problem for good. I have not seen the issue since and we are on 9.1 SP2 at the…

Kahmeelyon, that sounds very annoying so I'll hope Cisco will fix your issue within the next weeks. I'm just looking forward that "our" Solarwinds support find another solution for my issue. I can't belive, that every IOS is affected with this bug. I get no graphs no matter what combination I try to monitor via IP SLA in…

I just spoke with SolarWinds tech support again and he had no update for me. Apparently he's being ignored by the developers. He also told me he has three other calls in with the same issue. That's just one guy. Imagine how many others there are. I am told by Joseph that when these bugs appear on this board the developers…

What if we were to expose certain information as an RSS feed? Such as alerts and top 10s. Then you could get the info on any phone with an RSS reader (which is most of them). This isn't a bad idea but I'm not sure it gives me much beyond what I get with the email alerts. I have realized that the problem in my case is the…

After a little snooping around it turns out we have "URL Scanning" enabled in IIS. While troubleshooting another problem I saw that there were URLScan errors in the IIS logs so I went to investigate. Here's a snipit from my urlscan.ini file: [DenyQueryStringSequences] ; ; If any character sequences listed here appear in…

So how important is this feature to you in terms of network management? If you had 3 features you could definitely get into Orion, would this make the list? It's great if it does; I'm just trying to gauge. Denny, Thanks for getting back so quick. Another option might be to write your own Java App to be installed on the…

Question... would you ever need to set different source IP's for different operations on the same node? Currently you can set the IP per node, but it will be the same for every operation created on that node. Yes! For instance, I might want to use a user VLAN interface as the source for DHCP queries. But for VoIP I want to…

You could use Cisco IP SLA for this. I realize you probably want to test a server's ability to reach a page. But this might be worth looking at as well.

I'm having the same issue and I tried replacing that file. Still no luck. Any other advice?

I did this template which works with our 44xx devices: <!-- edited with Notepad by Jodros--> <!--SolarWinds Network Management Tools--> <!--Copyright 2005 SolarWinds.Net All rights reserved--> <Configuration-Management Device="Cisco WLC" SystemOID=" 1.3.6.1.4.1.14179.1.1.4.3"> <Commands> <Command Name="RESET" Value=""/>…

Denny, Thanks for the info. As above I've been given a bug ID and I have opened a ticket. So far nothing back from SolarWinds on this. I have seen other posts complaining of the same behaviour in the SyslogViewer app.

After working with the very capable Solarwinds tech support and development staff we have determined that there is a Cisco bug which will cause graphs to break in IP SLA Manager after 49 days of uptime: CSCin66315 - Inconsistency with sysuptime and rttMonLatestRttOperTime It is resolved in 12.2(46)SG and 12.3(7)T. I did a…

I've tried everything to get Orion to work with the Blackberry Browser and still no joy. I first had to disable Windows Pass Through Authentication to get it to prompt for login credentials. Then I created a slimmed down single column summary page. I can get to the login page. But when I enter the credentials it looks like…
