this is a great idea. we should not be running older Java versions, especially those with known security vulnerabilities.

I've been using Patch Manager for almost a decade but only for HP devices. This past year we got a couple Dell devices so I've been trying to use Patch Manager to patch those using the Dell packages. They aren't being detected for what I suspect is the reason you posted about. They need some kind of agent/service running…

I am also getting this notification. Any ideas what we are supposed to do to install it? if anything?

Where are the latest patches? We used to get nine to thirteen new bundles of patches every month and now i've seen one bundle for the entire month. We are getting further behind and depend on Patch Manager to keep us secure with updates that mitigate critical security vulnerabilities. Given the problems the Orion team has…

Thanks for replying. It's one this ONE update that fails. Everything else works great (both Microsoft updates via WSUS and any other 64-bit patches delivered via Patch Manager). I only have one WSUS server that everyone points to. I only have one certificate that everyone uses. I will try publishing the certificate…

Does SolarWinds monitor THWACK? The original post was on 10/27. Would have been nice to have SolarWinds comment on the delay at least first thing Monday.

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately that was for the WebEx Player and Recorder. I tried installing it on a fresh PC that had never had any WebEx installed before, and then I tried a test WebEx meeting. It still wanted to download and install something else. Evidently "WebEx Player and Recorder" is not the same thing as…

Hi. First, thank you for these instructions. Second, I tried them for one computer just to test, and it failed. I tried it for a different computer and it also failed. Here is the error I received. As you can see from this image, this computer (named WIN7IE10QA5) has Java 8 Update 102 installed (as well as Java 8 Update…

I do not see Java8u131 in my Patch Manager environment despite synchronizing several times today.

Thank You jrouviere, I tried downloading those catalogs that joeuser99 posted. None of them have Adobe Acrobat 2017 in them. They only have the old Reader XI, and DC versions. Does anyone have a patch for Adobe Acrobat 2017 in Patch Manager today?

Thank you for replying. I checked one of the servers that is failing and ran "rsop.msc". I can see the WSUS Publishing Certificate is in place in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store AND the Trusted Publishers store.I can also see that the "Allow Signed Updates from an Intranet Microsoft update service…

Seems to be working now. Thanks!

It just arrived last night. It looks like it was created shortly after the patch was released but was not made available to the customers until late yesterday. Thanks for getting this to us.

I saw the comment about new features when Java RE 8u91 and 8u92 were released. So if 8u91 had just security updates, and 8u92 had security updates and new features, does 8u101 have the new features that were introduced with 8u92? Does that question make sense?

I'm not sure we would keep using Patch Manager if we couldn't deploy it in the same manner as today (which even then isn't that great - it doesn't remove old versions). I may look at Shavlik and a few competitors just to see what they offer. Patch Manager is sometimes great and sometimes not so good. But for the price it's…

What's the difference between Google Chrome x.x.xxxx.xx "Business Enterprise MSI" and the plain "EXE"? Which should we use? Also is the EXE version available for download yet?

Hi Adam, Thanks for replying. When we purchased WinZip licenses for our organization (100 users) we received two files: an installation file (used to install the product) and a "Multi-User Registration File" named "WinZip.wzmul". Here's how we install WinZip today (including upgrades). We run the installation file first…

Thank you. Has anyone ever downloaded "Cisco WebEx Meetings Player"? I cannot find a link to do so. Also, when I check my software inventory reports, "Cisco WebEx Meetings Player" doesn't even display a version. So it's seems like I can't even tell if I have a correct version or not.

We are relatively new to this service. What is typical lead time between announcement and availability? Sometimes they seem to be available before I find out about them, and other times it takes several days. Also, does it help for us to announce them here? Or does SolarWinds have an inside track on all their products they…

Thank you for the assistance. Yes, screenshots would be helpful. I'm not sure where "patch management" is exactly. Also I think I already deleted the old version of Java from Patch Manager. Do I need to re-add it before I can tell it to uninstall it?
-
Thank you. That helps tremendously. I do see "SolarWinds Client Components" installed on most of my computers in my publishing environment. I haven't checked to see if they all have it. What is odd is that I don't recall what I did that caused it to get installed everywhere. Does anyone know what the official steps are for…
-
That will not be good if the old version does not get removed using the uninstall switch that has worked in the past. Please confirm this works.

I think they have always had a version xx1 and a version xx2 of Java. For example, 8u91 and 8u91. From my understanding the "1" release/version only has security/bug fixes, while the "2" release/version has new features. I'm not an expert in this by any stretch, but both 151 and 152 were released on the same day.

Java 8u144 worked for me as well. I used the (Upgrade) version.

Thanks for adding wireshark!!! Jim
