I saw the same issue on CPU usage () In working with SolarWinds, I posed the following solution, but never got an answer, other than, "we report what SNMP gives us" Disagree: There should be data validation/integrity taking place. Just because the system is reporting a negative number, doesn't mean it is correct or that…

Disk Volume - Physical Memory: this represents what is in the system. If there is 2GB you will see it is reporting acurately. CPU Load & Memory Utilization: this represents physical and VM together. If there is 2GB P and 1.5GB V you will see this as 3.5GB and the utilization (%) will be lower. Also, if you are using Lotus…

I reported this as a flaw over 18 months ago. Looks like they are still allowing invalid data

As a temporary work around I have set a rule to check the nodes severity level. A severity of 0 is good, anything else is an issue. Trigger when all apply: Vendor is equal to Windows Node Status is equal to UP Trigger when any apply: Severity is not equal to 0 I have an email that is sent to me to check SNMP

It would also be nice to include the SNMP TimeStamp to the CPU Gauge. Funny because this system hasn't had SNMP running for over a week, but yet, CPU is running at 62%.

I know this is not the answer you are looking for, but it might be a more accurate reporting method. Why not just use the reporting that is available in Domino? On the first of every month, I get an email from the Reports Database. I have a Monthly MVS (Message Volume Summary) that gets emailed to me. I then put the data…

I entered the following Feature Request: In the meantime I have done the following: Created VBS script that runs every 10 minutes on a seperate system. The script does the following: 1. ping NMS server and ping SQL server, 2. Perform WMI query. 3 Verify services up and running 4. Perform a SQL query If any of these steps…

This has been a known issues for a while. Just do a search for "100% memory" and you will see that other people have had the same issue. We have it happening on our Domino servers. Solarwinds says that it is an IBM issue because Domino is pre-allocating memory. They claimed that ALL monitoring tools would display the same…

I submitted the following enhancement request: We are currently using a VBscript on a remote system to verify that the server is up, ORION services are up, SQL server is up and can query the DB for expected value. If any of those fail we get a page.

You could add a resource to the view: Miscellaneous - Miscellaneous Resources - ADD CUSTOM HTML Once this is added, you can update the resource for each device to point to the HTML path of the image. Otherwise, you could request this a a feature request.

I am having the same issue with a Citrix XenServer that I am trying to monitor. Not sure what version of Net-SNMP I am running, but I have XenServer 5.5 (Xen is based on CentOS which is based on RedHat) I see the 100% CPU on my main screen, NODES WITH HIGH CPU and on the pop-up window for the node. However, when I drill…

This seems to be a popular request. Did this make it in?

we used this at my last job. It would call to let us know if there was an issue, not sure if you can feed info into it. http://www.sensaphone.com we had the ims-4000 model Also, notepage.

Here is 1 example: Step 1: (How long it takes to monitor a server, in seconds) * 1.2 (build in a 20% buffer for issues and boredom) = seconds per server Step 2: X (number of server) * seconds per Server = total monitoring seconds Step 3: total monitoring seconds / 3600 seconds = Total Monitoring hours Step 4(dedicated…

Have you seen my post about this, don't you find this frustrating as well? Or am I the only one?

It looks like vBrick does support Digital Signage. I am not familiar with thier product(s), but I would open a ticket with them to discuss optiions to pull a webpage into your environment.

Option #1 Mount a ThinPC running linux behind it and load Chrome with TabRevolver. Option #2 If you want to push other information, look into Digital Signage

If the reports are showing on the ORION Reports website, you can run a monthly VBScript using the address. Example: orion/.../Report.aspx Using a VBScript you can achieve the following: Step #1 - Open this page and sign into ORION (I used the ORION httplogin.vbs file to achieve this) Step #2 - Issue print command from the…

There could be a small department within HP that uses the products, but SolarWinds gets to list HP as a client. My previous organization charged back divisions for monitoring and some choose to do it themselves, because they thought they could do it cheaper and better. So when they signed contracts they were always asked…
