  • Hi Jeff, Thanks for the information. What kind of traffic is that in Mbps, if you can say?
  • Sorry, I think I'd better clarify since I've come around the whole thing a couple of times. If we're going to be told to apply a bandaid, at least make it accessible (via web GUI). I'd rather see it fixed as a security bug (mouse-overs and overview pages not honoring account limitations), but I'm well aware of what takes…
  • Hi Danielle, I appreciate the help, but I know the workaround. I'm referring to the fact that this is a security bug and nothing's been done to fix it. I'd like to see it logged as a security bug and fixed so I don't have to worry about re-applying a bandaid every time I upgrade.
  • Hi Brandon, Regarding #2 - I'm on 1.0.1 because I'm just not ready or willing to upgrade to 9.5 yet. I was mildly disappointed (but not surprised) to see that I couldn't upgrade IPAM until I upgraded Orion.
  • Hi Michal, I wish I could, but I noticed after posting this message that it's not consistent. It seems when I want it to happen, I can't even get the popup to come up while dragging an item (in my case, an interface).

  • Thank you for the email. It's just what I needed.
  •  Unfortunately, that didn't help. Any other suggestions?
  •  That was exactly it. Thank you. Now I'm curious why they created a new table for those settings instead of rolling it into the Accounts table like they did with NetFlow. Justin
  • I have and there's no option to remove the Modules bar. For clarity's sake, I'm referring to the menu above the "Views" menu that can be customized.
  • I'm not even aware of any way of editing the time period on that resource permanantly, and yes - in that order.
  • Thanks. I'll do that.
  • That's unfortunate if it's truly just a crazy caching bug. This has the potential to be a data loss bug, which should be verified and squashed ASAP.
  • Is there a known issue with TACACS and the job schedule? I've seen a lot of these lately but haven't had a chance to follow up with the issue.
  • Does this mean you've sped up the response times on node management via the web console?
  • I figured it out. I had an advanced alert that didn't have a precise enough trigger condition defined. Would you put in a bug report or a feature request for a UI for this? It's amazing to me that the alerting system would have an issue big enough to throw two warnings in the event log every two minutes without actually…
  •  Perfect. Thank you.
  •  I noticed in passing that an update to a component of MS SQL was run before SP2 was installed. I didn't see anything in the release notes about this update.
  • How do I "install" this? Simply putting it in DefaultTemplates doesn't seem to do anything.
  • I wondered when I posted if that would cause confusion, but let it ride. I'm monitoring an Orion box with the above specs from another box running SAM 5.0 stand-alone. So what you're saying is that the listing for that service is no longer necessary and I can remove it? I don't need to replace it or point it towards…
  •  Hi Mark, I'm actually receiving this message with the MIB Viewer and MIB Walker tools. I was trying to trace down some traps that are coming in and wanted to make sure that error was coming from the device and not the software. Thanks, Justin
  • That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I've already paid for a product that never worked for us, so I'm never going to be able to convince anyone to pay for maintenance unless I can prove it's going to work.
  • I never did receive an answer, though I have brought it up with Solarwinds staff whenever I can. Hopefully it's somewhere on their to-do list. If it's not, it needs to be.
  • Hi! Thanks for the input. My understanding of this is that, if the IP is the same as a device you monitor, it'll show the appropriate hostname and be a clickable link to that devices node page. If it's not a monitored IP, the hostname field will only show the source IP address that the syslog came from.
  • Ticket number 48836. I also discovered that I'm getting an error in Event Viewer every second or two as follows: Event Type: Error Event Source: NetFlowService Event Category: None Event ID: 0 Date: 6/26/2008 Time: 11:45:37 AM User: N/A Computer: Description: Exception: error occurred during packet processing. Cannot get…
  • Thanks for the info, Mav! I appreciate the quick response. On a side note, which came first: Mythbusters, or the shirts?
  • Hi there Guac, Thanks for the tutorial. It worked great, but I had to add the step of creating a new Advanced SQL report to paste the resultant query into. I don't know if that's a missed step or if it has to do with my version of NPM. Also, since I had to add an extra field (IP_Address), I discovered that any columns you…
  • Ticket 85720. Thanks, Chris.
  • You interpreted my question just fine, thanks! However, I've done some investigation on my own. If what you say is true, then I have a bug where hourly summarization isn't happening. And this all started because of some issues with 95th percentile numbers getting (possibly) mangled when getting summarized. What I'd like to…
  •  Hi Josh. Thanks for the response. It's possible that I had a console session open via KVM with a low bit color depth, but it was logged out before I even downloaded the update. And I restarted all Orion services since. Do I have to restart my server to get the maps regenerated? Or is there a cache I can delete?
  • I explored this but, unless I'm missing something, didn't see anything that would let me get the list back the way it used to be. When I choose a View that is an InterfaceDetails view, the list I get uses InterfaceName rather than FullName or Caption.
