Without seeing what I was using in 3, I have to assume that the template I'm using ("Extreme") is the right one. It's the only Extreme template I see. In any case, I did as you requested, and I see this: Echo not detected yet. push back data to echo buffer, EchoBuffer = '<contents of config up to that point>' Echo is…

I swear, I regularly leave out the critical information people need. I'm looking at the Node Details View with the pie chart for the last 2 hours on an interface that runs at ~50Mbps.

Craig, Thanks for the reply. Can you also address the IPv6 question?
-
Thanks Marie. I looked for but hadn't seen a post-1.6 "What we're working" on list yet. Also, since it's looming specifically on my horizon, I'd also appreciate any information on your future plans for more robust IPv6 support.

I looked in the Accounts table in my NPM database and didn't see anything specific to NCM (similar to the Netflow settings in the same table), but I'll look again. Role=None should be less than ReadOnly, not just security through obscurity. None should mean that there's no possibility that that user should be able to even…

Where is said SP1? I only see an announcement for Netflow 3.1. I have a download of 3.1 as of 2/6/09. Edit: Nevermind. I was only looking in the Announcements group. Consistency, folks!!!

Thank you for the reply. In regards to number 2, the credentials are correct or it would fail every time and the monitor would be down. Plus I've logged into the mailbox via OWA with the credentials we have. The problem troubleshooting this is that it's intermittent. There might be only one or two per day left in the…

The fact that the node management section of the website works on 2 out of 3 of the browsers on this machine. I don't seem to have any config issues that would be causing things not to work, so I wanted to know if there was any browser specific stuff happening behind the scenes of the pages.

I know it's a bit of a necro, but I just discovered this little hole myself. Despite the hack, the question remains, is there going to be a way to turn this off on an account by account basis, or maybe only have them for Admin accounts?

Also, I'm noticing that I'm not getting emails about replies to threads I start like I used to on the old page. How do I enable that?

Where can I find the Hardware Health monitor? I'm using SAM 6.1.1.

Thanks, Zack. I'll look at that. /jh

7 Interfaces ~3 days, give or take 3.4 GB Based on completely unscientific methods (yay calc!), ~850MB Edit: oh, and that's with the default Global Settings for data retention.

I would like to add my voice to this discussion. I find myself in the position of not just changing server names, but having to add authentication to a large pack of alerts on an 8 year old installation. I'm suddenly wishing I didn't have to justify spending this amount of time on something that should be either a single…

Nobody has any thoughts on this one?

So now netflow is constantly crashing and restarting with the following: Event Type: Error Event Source: NetFlowService Event Category: None Event ID: 0 Date: 12/1/2008 Time: 1:32:43 PM User: N/A Description: Exception: error occurred during packet processing. Could not allocate space for object…

Anything? I had to change my timeout to 5 minutes to get a row count on the table (140 million, btw).

Anybody? I really don't want to have to manually set 175+ accounts manually via the web interface.
-
Anyone? Is this intentional on the part of the devs?

What about "I know about the cert, but don't have time to pursue alphabet soup"? I chose "studying for it" just because I *am* using the product, after all, but it really doesn't describe where I am. This is approximately the same reason I haven't pursued other certs.

When I'm searching Group Description, I'd like to see Groups (super/subnets) returned, not a list of individual IPs, and mostly for the same reasons I wanted to be able to search group descriptions in the first place. I don't assign IPs, I assign blocks, and when I search for "Free" or "Unassigned", I want to see the block…

I finally got the upgrade installed. It took several days because of a snafu on my part installing SQL 2005. I had been running SQL Server 2000, but didn't know I had to upgrade until I was running through the NCM config wizard. Then I ended up leaving a default option checked that I shouldn't have (because I'm really not…

Don't know if it'll help in your case, but the reason this happened to me was because someone had used a hash (#) as part of a vlan name.

Depending on what you're trying to do, you can change your conditional to "...where none of the following apply" and then use whatever filters you want. It might mean adding an extra layer of conditions depending on how complex your report filters are already. Justin

I don't have an answer, but I'm trying to track down the same thing you are. I have noticed that an interface that shows 12,000+ packets/sec over a 5 minute period only produces a flow cache of 552.7 packets/sec. I'm not sure how that adds up. Is there some kind of limitation regarding what netflow collects in the cache?

I just upgraded to 9. It went very well, except for two things. I had to do a repair on APM to get it working, and then I had to repair the NPM install to get UnDP working. Other than that, quite smooth and very fast. No more 15 minute wait while configuring the database. Justin

Thank you, both. Got it done.

Anyone on the product team have any ideas?
