+! for juniper support for M, MX and T series routers. Juniper has the equiv called the Real-Time Performance Monitor: http://www.juniper.net/techpubs/en_US/junos11.2/topics/concept/real-time-performance-monitoring-overview.html John

I do hope they ramp up Juniper support soon. 10.2 is a good step, but our Juniper SSL vpns are still out of scope since they use Junipers DMI management interface. I hope Solarwinds decides to go down that path since we can get NCM backups then too. Since Juniper has a streamlined product line and much simpler junos OS…

We'd like to see this as well (DELL). Denny, what is your definition of integration vs monitoring in regard to this?
-
aLTeReGo, no I have not seen your CRAC :P Sorry couldn't resist. I will take a look at the poller though. I have a pretty extensive undp already but having trouble filtering on the alerts and telling if it's a current alert on the unit or just one sitting in the event log because it hasn't been cleared yet. John
-
">aLTeReGo just wondering if there has been any additional progress or if you are still looking for help. We are in the middle of an sap rollout and we are being pushed hard to be able to monitor the servers AND the application / user experience. Our CTO recently brought in some old "business partners" who are proposing a…

Modified this to accommodate Juniper JUNOS Ethernet Interfaces. with PortCTE as ( select [PC].[NodeID] , [PC].[PortName] , isnull([PC].[PortCount], 0) as [PortCount] , isnull([APC].[PortCount], 0) as [ActivePortCount] from ( select [P].[NodeID], left([P].[Name], 2) as [PortName], count([P].[PortID]) AS [PortCount] from…

I'll add our name to the request list. I actually hate making new alerts because of all the duplication that is involved. Little things like this are what make a product stand out - in our opinion - as a true enterprise ready product. Now if we get charts in reports too.....
-
Justinh, if the user is local to the server, the format is usually localservername\user in place of domain\user. I'm assuming you tried that already, but if not, give it a shot.
-
Brandon, Our input on the agents is this: Done right, the agents can collect data and forward that data to the management server when the network is down. They eliminate the blind spots. Remote pollers are the agentless way of doing it but the way they are currently implemented ($$$$$) they are not a feasible option. And…

Great info. I have a question for SW though. This in in regards to the reg entry "Response Time Retry Count". What is the default if this key is not present and set?
-
+1. This and multiple guages from different nodes on the same page would allow NPM to finally have true "dashboard" functionality.
-
So what do you want from an agent that you do not get from agent less polling? How about the ability to collect data when the network is down or orion is down. The ability to take actions based on rules when the network is down. Reduced bandwidth usage since all rules would be stored on the client. John

So continuing down this path, has anyone been able to determine if the unit currently has an alert and if so what that alert is (low humidity, water sensor, etc).
-
Funny, I tried (tried because I obviously faied to explain myself properly) to ask about this capability on the demo and I was told no this was not possible. Good to know it is indeed possible, supported and documented. To bad SW doesn't offer this service as an option. I'm betting more than a few potential customers would…

Yes Please! +1

Please excuse the slight distration of this thread. I just thought this was a great time to explain one of my wanted feature requests - APM Agents. This is one of the reasons I think APM should have optional agents. Agents can get around the type of issue you are having with the DCs.
-
Even if each statistic were it's own graph or even if we eliminate the graph for now, is there a way to natively grab this info with APM? I know Questionario mentioned some powershell coding, but we are really looking for something native, as our coding skills are - ahem - not what the used to be. John

2) having new state (for example "Network/system") in the future. That's the option we'd prefer. Thx.
-
Andy, I'd like to see the it presented as a roll up status. For resources with sub-resources (temp probes, power supplies) with the ability to click on the resource and drill down to see all the individual statuses. Having cake and eating it too - the status icons should reflect what is being monitored - Thermometer for…

So we just committed to the MAG series of SSL VPN devices. Pretty sure this is the start of a larger move to Juniper. OoB support for CPU / Memory, etc would be killer. Any word from SW?
-
Juniper has stated that BASH isn't accessible on the devices via Netconf, so I don't think this is a concern.
-
We would like a single discovery engine that does all the discovery for all products. That way there is one place to define snmp strings, credentials, etc. And a single scan could have multiple puposes. For instance, I may do a nightly full in depth scan that would churn up used IPs, Devices and Ports. That info could be…

adauria - I believe what you are describing is summed up here as a feature request. Please add your vote to the request thread if this is what you are looking for.
-
What release would that be ?
-
Marie, I've done the MIB walk, the OID I got for temp came from that. I can not find the other metrics anywhere after lookng at the walk. I've submitted what I believe to be the correct OID to the Unknown Devices thread per your suggestion. I will open up a support ticket as well. I didn't actually realize support would…
-
Wow. The not so funny part about this is that we opened a ticket on this and a few other issues we had with 10.5 and it was never mentioned that the web based report writer was pulled from the RC to GA release. Definitely explains why we couldn't find it anymore
-
Raylgood - curious as to your compellent issues as we are moving to the platform and are about to migrate our vm's onto it. Anything you can share? John
-
I'd like to add our name to the feature request. We'd really like NPM to graphiclly show the actual state of the port and to be able to report on that state, whether it be Error Disabled or Administratively Shutdown. John
-
Did this every make the cut and get included in NCM? The built in Switch Port report us still totally useless for Cisco gear.
-
Yes, we ran into this as well. Would be really nice if the description came over from DHCP.
