I personally think this should be part of NPM as well.

Completely agree, however I really believe it needs to happen. In Solarwinds defense, they have made some progress but I still feel like I'm driving a 1985 when it's 2014.
-
PeterLyttle - I wasn't trying to imply you were ripping them apart. That was meant as a reference to my previous posts were I was saying I was being negative. I had hoped the face at the end would convey my toung in cheek humor. So far I've been very dismal at conveying tone in email. My apologies. I'll stick with tech and…

YES!

Being an ETS and Orion customer for over 3 years now, I could never for the life of me figure out two things. 1) why I get right click options in Orion that do nothing without having ETS installed (marketing gimmick) 2) why this right click functionality doesn't run from the Orion server. Or at least have the option since…

I just want to point out the Solarwinds delivers! One of the must have UI usability items is here -> Beta2 for Network Configuration Manager v7.3 is Available!
-
Trying to check out the improved alerts web interface. What should we be seeing there?
-
II'll vote for this but really won't use it until they fix the need for Orion to refresh the entire page to update an element status (which just so happens too be MY feature request Orion Next Gen User Interface). Feature Request - http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/1501

Would love to see compellent support.

Is VNX supported if it sits behind VPLEX? And how about XtremeIO support?

Couldn't agree more with this posting. For us, the current environment want to lay blame on the software, which admittedly is bad, but the real issue is any lack of process or procedure. ITIL is thrown around as a buzzword but that's about it. Glad to see you have it under control.

Really liking the new features. Especially "Bringing Order to The Chaos".
-
Looking forward to #4 - Statistical Baselining with Automatic Recommended Threshold Calculations
-
Same. Just having an event up / down is kinda useless to us. We need the details and we need an alert that contains the details.
-
This would be incredibly useful.

Totally agree with dclick. Especially want #1, #2 and #4. I'd also like to expand on #2 - we'd like to be able to add a new range and scan just that range - why do I need to scan everything that already exists? My ideas: Mapping Layout: We'd like to see some additional Auto Arrange capabilities. For instance, we'd like to…

HA! I was so dazzled by the mouse overs I missed ripping Solarwinds apart for not having resizing and data exporting One other thing I noticed - the number of data points one can fit on a chart for the same period of time is less with the new charts than with the old.

Yes Please +1

It's nice to see someone running a helpdesk who seems to have a good grasp on what they are doing. Excellent information.
-
Couldn't agree with this more. 24 rolling hours should be the norm.
-
So glad to see this implemented!

I do like what I see. It's a bit better organized (group by) and seems to let you see some test data when selecting the object. The big item on our list is really the entire page refreshing. As trivial as it sounds it's the biggest complaint we have.

Chris, Overall, in my short time as a SolarWinds customer, I've seen a lot of good things. You guys seem genuinely interested in your customers. As for the what's on tap posting, there are a few things on that list we wanted, which is really great news. But I do agree with the majority here who think a tool like NCM that…

Add our vote. What we found wierd is that our old ESX 3.5 servers using SNMP reported the drive info, but ESX 4 using the API did not. We actually lost a feature we had. Booo.
-
Viol8tor - agreed. It's little things like this that would give Orion that polished feel. I feel this is the stuff that gets mostly ignored for new features. I hope they start adding more little tweaks like this more often. Love the new features too though!

One thing I just realized, this is just a point in time snapshot of ports in use. This is ok when looking at Core / ToR switches, but when looking at access switches, for us it would be really beneficial to see the maximum number of ports used over a period of time. It paints a more realistic picture for use based on…

Just my occassional query to see if there is any progress in this area?
-
Nexicon - AFAIK the SA / MAGs do not support telnet / SSH other than through the Juniper DMI standard. Have you been able to back up these devices with NCM? If so, could you share? Thanks!
-
Denny - We were going through the hassle of setting this up (never got it done last time we looked at it) and I realized I never answered you. We'd be VERY happy with Integration.
