Do you use a proxy for web access?

ecklerwr1 looking at this page the one thing I really like over the Orion GUI is how clean it is and how well it summarizes things. If they don't already, it would do the User Interface team good to look at other products and get customer feedback on how it compares to what Solarwinds is delivering.

We have NPM, APM, NCM, NTA and IPAM running on a single W2k8R2 VM with 4 GB mem. Disk is 6 disk 15K RAID 5 LUN shared with other vm's. We have around ~1000 elements, ~150 nodes, ~400 interfaces and ~200 volumes. We also have a virtualized SQL Server 2008 on W2k8R2 with 6 GB mem. Disk is 6 disk 15K RAID 1 LUN shared with 1…

I don't have an answer to your question, but we've moved our server and relicensed it through the portal - it was easy and painless. What type of problem are you having or do you foresee?
-
Were you ever able to figure this out? We have the same need.
-
+1 +2 +3 +4 +5 Can I keep voting for this?!?

As dumb as this sounds, we're not seeing the TCP Port Monitor in templates. I know you can roil your own, so no big deal, but is there supposed to be a default template for this?
-
We would love reports with graphs too. We've also chimed in on previous feature requests and also came from a MRTG / PRTG environment where we had all the charts and graphs we could eat. I completely agree that it seems the report engine is way overdue for a complete overhaul to provide the ability to have a chart / graph…

Hmm, since my first experience with Orion was an already installed but terribly set up instance of 9, I first saw the links to thwack in the console. It was an invaluable resource once I started exploring. I hope that answers the question.
-
+1 Would love to see release dates and be able to sort by them as well.
-
To answer my own question, looks like a reboot fixed the issue for whatever reason.
-
After running through this scenario several times, we would like to be able to do the same thing. Should be able to rescan or add a node without having to rescan all nodes. I did see mention of "Modular Scanning: build many maps from a single scan" in 2.2 but that seems to be the opposite of what we are asking for.

What works for us is to put the URL up to the ? in the URL field and then AUTH token as the 1st part of the body.
-
In case you didn't see this

Interested. Email sent.

10.4.1 release version is showing the same problem. Since I seem to be the only one experiencing it, we'll go ahead and open a ticket as it's probably a new issue.
-
We saw the same thing and killed the install. Looks like the setup routine is ignoring the current config and laying down sql 2005. The RCs didn't do that. John

Still holding out for Juniper DHCP support! Would really love to be able to monitor our small branch SRX devices that hand out addresses to clients.
-
YES! #1, #3 and #5 are very much appreciated. Have been looking forward to #1 for quite some time. Please go big on this one! Would like to see more JUNIPER integration. As in Juniper SA / MAGs don't poll CPU / Memory OoB. Would also like to see a better UnDP interface. - ie, when trying to build and test a UnDP.

I really wish there was more information easily accessible within the product when trying to get things like this working. It seems way to easy to be able to put some notes in the template stating that it doesn't work as root. I spent half a day looking at this until I came upon this post.

Sorry, this is sort of a double post. I mistakenly posted to the Blog entry the first time. Any chance to Windows GUI search feature will be ported to the web console? And perhaps a more automated way to set up realtime change alerts :)

DELL Compellent Riverbed / Opnet AppResponse Xpert - I have the MIBs for both but I'm no expert in deciphering the OID from them
-
Solarwinds, can you answer a quick question for us? Say a device / mib alreadyexists (it gets detected properly) and then the manufacturer releases a newer mib later on that adds additional properties that can be retrieved. How do we know if the Solarwinds mib has been updated?

Using the vSwitch right now. Have looked at the 1000v. There is little visibility into the vSwitch. 1000v seems to solve it at a cost (money & server resources). Right now there is no easy way to tell which pnic a guest is using (we are using etherchannel trunks). Nor is there a way to see internal traffic or stats on each…

I hope "HW Health Monitoring for major market vendors" isn't limited to Cisco but includes Juniper as well.
-
We fully support any type of drag-n-drop in the web console. Can tell you how magically fantastical that would be :)
-
Can't wait. APM is almost there and these features will help it come close. Looking forward to quite a fe of those on the list. Hope they all make it! Two questions: Any GUI enhancements to address usability issues? DELL & HP agent support - can you elaborate as to why that made it's way into APM and not NPM?
-
Jon, We have the same problem. NPM seems to find the objects during the scan, but we have zero luck when trying to find those items during the Find Connected Port for End Host search. John

vCenter 4 with vey near future (~3 weeks) plans to go to 4.1. Everyone like goodies, please spread them around :) John

We'd most definitely be interested in future sessions
