  • Honestly...I do not understand how this is not already part of the default NCM product. There has to be so many more Admins out there that find creating 1000's of groups manually, one at a time, is ridiculous. Come people VOTE...lets get this one implemented.
  • As promised Here is the ConfigMgmt-Commands script I am using: <!--Solarwinds Network Management Tools--> <!--Copyright 2005 Solarwinds.com All Rights Reserved--> <Configuration-Management Device="3Com Baseline Switch 2928-HPWR Plus" SystemOID="1.3.6.1.4.1.43.1.8.75"> <Commands> <Command Name="ALLOCATEPTY" Value="True" />…
  • Jiri Not a problem. I just do not know if this is going to be possible with NCM. I have tried 100's of variations and I just cannot seem to get it right. The closest I have gotten so far is to have the Download Config job complete successfully, but it only created the folders and a ZERO length file...but it didn't actually…
  • Well this is why I wanted a community vote on the feature. If the majority of the customer base agrees, how can Solarwinds ignore that demand? I think its actually simple to create, since other areas already do have the ability to use SQL queries -- example: Variables, Alerts, Emails, all can use some form of SQL query to…
  • Steve... I truly appreciate your response. However...after posting all of my reply I realized I would posting under Kiwi Cat Tools, and not under NCM. My issue is with NCM, but it is literally identical to the one seen here with Cat Tools. All may not be lost...maybe there is some logic in your response that could be used…
  • Thanks Jiri Yes I did open a case and am working with Adrian. I have made a lot of progress -- that is saying that I now am able to see the file get transferred, but the job still fails for some reason. I think maybe that is due to trying to move the configuration file and rename it per my Config-Archive settings. And that…
  • Before I go digging back into all the scripts/reports I attempted to create. Is apm_hardwareinfo.nodeid general or is it specific to a Vendor? I appreciate your comment, as it probably will lead me to success...adding to the list of things I haven't tried yet.
  • I guess I just can't believe that so many company's are still only supporting Windows. In my opinion, derived from years of experience, Windows itself uses to many resources just for the Operating System, and doesn't really leave a lot of room for additional services like IIS or MSSQL. Windows just is not powerful enough…
  • I am also interest in this question being answered. My issue may require a separate Thread, but at least knowing how to properly pull data from the database using SQL statements in a Variable will be useful. More to the point...I need to know if this is possible to pull data from tables and put it into a Custom Property…
  • Better question same results... How does the Nodes table OSVersion get populated? I see the data I want in several default tables such as OSVersion, but I am not able to populate my custom property fields with the same data. Where can I find the queries that NCM uses to populate these fields? J
  • I need to bump this topic. We have literally thousands of these same switches at one of our customers. We have to be able to use NCM to backup, change control, restore configurations to all of these switches. One thing to point out is that the method the original poster (Jeff), and this here Jeff are using is somewhat…
