rschroeder Good overall questions. For downloading the configs after adding the node to NCM, which config would you like to have NCM download first Running or Startup or a Custom Config Type (assuming some are already defined)? We do have a canned report for nodes that NCM has not backed up and for ones that have not been…

Okay, the actual issue can vary from user to user. Would love to hear your feedback after the upgrade process is complete!
-
Great! If you have other questions just let me know.
-
Glad you got it working!
-
Did you download that version from the SolarWinds website or is that the version you are seeing from a 7.9 install?
-
By chance did you open a case with us?
-
I recognize this list. :-)

We have a list of the entities you can use here: SolarWinds Information Service data entities

To access the Cisco API you need to ensure the machine that SA is installed on has internet access.
-
mezdem Yes this is how NCM functions today as part of the initial implementation to prevent any unwanted upgrades. If you haven't already vote, please vote on What access level would be acceptable for your to use per the standards you adhere to?
-
Were there any recent changes on your system? .Net framework installed? Were you able to learn anything from Cisco related to your issues?
-
Sounds like it should be pretty quick for you, we are only look for configs that have been marked as baseline. Anything else is outside of the scope for this migration.
-
Ismo You need to run separate jobs so that the engine can do a comparison of the data from the existing config vs the one being downloaded. If you have any recommendations on how we can improve this screen please add them here: Network Configuration Manager Feature Requests .

Are you using v7.9?
-
naters In addition I recommend checking out v7.9, we added Multi-Device Baselines which adds a great deal of functionality to baselines. NCM 7.9 Is Now Generally Available!

Hey ebradford as yumdarling said, please drop this into the NCM forum! I cannot wait to read your write up.
-
themacrat I would love to hear more about your environment and how you are using NCM.
-
Got it. Are you using Scripts or Config Change Templates? Scripts in NCM execute commands. Meaning you just need to type the commands as you would into an SSH/CLI session.
-
Have you inventoried your devices? VLAN is included here SolarWinds Information Service data entities You can check this page for better detail on the Config change template details Your script would have something like the following: { // Enter configuration mode CLI { configure terminal } } foreach ( <insert here> ) {…

Josh - what would make this a more usable feature from your viewpoint?
-
I will email some times to you directly.
-
Ah okay, then I would suggest sending this through support. We can go through the logs in greater detail and evaluate the setup to see what is causing this to trigger.
-
This is no longer part of NCM functionality and the guide has been corrected. I apologize that you had some struggles related to this. Are you trying to accomplish something that I can help guide you through?
-
We are compatible with 2016 and the issue is the .Net version. The workaround is to roll back to .Net v3.5 and everything should work without issue.

Sounds like fun (the phone calls) What did they find useful with EOC + NCM?
