Would love to see this added! We're soon to be only using Unity and I would hate to see us drop SRM if we can't use it anymore

This one happened just yesterday. We're getting reports that one of our outer offices is down, and since the networking team has slowly been handing over control of the corporate network to IT as we've been slogging through training and learning how to operate things, we're naturally first on the list for a 2+ hour drive…

Wooot!

Congrats to mwilder817!

We have several in house programs and do use SAM, but we mainly use it for monitoring of the corporate server infrastructure, as the maintenance and monitoring of the in house programs is primarily the job of the programmers here. We just monitor server, network, and storage status of the various in house builds. We mainly…

Good read. The only way to completely avoid an attack is to unplug everything from the power source and not have any connected devices at all. Ever. Since that just can't happen in the business world, taking preventative steps is key. If we make the prize too hard to get to easily, we make an attack much less likely since…

I have that same mousepad! Lootcrate?

I've so far upgraded my personal desktop. I can agree with Bronx that it went smoothly and pretty much everything seems to work OK. However, having a gaming hobby is where the issues have begun. The issues have been pinned down to Windows 10 having issues with NVidia graphics cards. I'd love to say they got it right, but…

My explanation every time this happens is that IT has "the gift". I can't count how many times I've had this happen to me over the years.

This is as close to a resolution I've gotten from SW support so far. My hope is that this is resolved soon either via hotfix or in the next IPAM release.
-
I may have to try this. We run a full Orion environment with NPM, NCM, SAM, UDT, etc on the main polling engine. I have seen it return as well but have had no further luck with support on resolving this.
-
When I applied this, I did NOT apply to any of our additional polling engines. The hotfix didn't seem to help anyway after I applied it. I have gotten polling working again after opening a ticket with SW support. What we ended up doing after applying the hotfix was uninstalling the Orion Improvement Program from the…

I wonder if it could help me find my lost mind?
-
Here is what I was told in my ticket with SW support. "If the issue persists, perform the steps below: - Backup the Orion database - If the Orion server is running on a VM, take a snapshot of it - Uninstall IPAM then complete the configuration wizard - Drop the IPAM directory in Program Files - Drop the IPAM directory in…

I suspect that elbow space may be a luxury in the office eh?

We have a similar issue. We store a lot of files on network drives and put a script file on each users desktop to reconnect in case they drop a network connection. We still get calls asking "Why can't I access file ____?? Make it work!" If they would go ahead and run the drive connector script that EVERY computer has I…

If only the nice Cisco phones dispensed hot coffee..... That would be amazing!

I've been fighting this for a few months now with mixed results. I tried the fix of re-installing the Jobengine, Jobengine.v2, and the CollectorInstaller after opening a support case and getting the response to perform that. Initially, this worked, but after two days all my scans are back to queued again. This is very…

You should be fine. NTA 3.11.0 should work just fine with NPM 11.x. Check here: http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/1888/Compatibility+of+SolarWinds+Orion+Products+for+Installation+and+Upgrade#title to see what versions are compatible with each other.

Guess I'll add mine to the list. Not too cluttered as far as what my worst has been.
-
I currently use Secure CRT and PuTTY. Secure CRT has options to make it the default SSH program and works with NPM's SSH button.
-
I use two monitors and a person asks if I have two computers running side by side.

After a lengthy support case with SW, I have had scanning up and going for a week now. I don't know which combination of fixes truly helped, but I essentially ended up fully re-installing IPAM program files. All of the settings are kept in the database, but what I ended up doing was completely removing IPAM from the Add or…
