In my experience it works great! Essentially it has Orion Diagnostics built-in which it runs prior to installing any upgrades to ensure there isn't any compatibility issues. No more going through the upgrade assistant to plan out product version paths, downloading and staging multiple installers, then watching each…

I would recommend checking out the Upgrade advisor in the customer portal: Product Upgrade Advisor | SolarWinds Customer Portal That's a good place to start and will guide you which version you'll need to download and in what order you need to install them in. Once you get to the current versions installed, you can use the…

DanielleH, I'm sorry for hijacking this thread but, how come all the comments were deleted from this post: Boost your server polling capacity with Stackable Poller license Myself and a number of other users were sharing our opinions on this topic and without any explanation all the comments were removed today.

cnorborg, I really hope this is some sort of technical glitch and not in fact censorship. If it is in fact censorship, then this is very disconcerting.

I would recommend my "poor man's" World Map, as long as the map doesn't need to be interacted with and you don't rely heavily on auto-placement. Go to Google Maps (or your preferred mapping provider). Take a screenshot of the area you need. Create a map in Network Atlas using that screenshot as the background. Place your…

Added my support case to this. Hopefully we get a hotfix quick.

I'm looking for this as well, it's frustrating that a lot of the great resources and features present for nodes aren't available for groups. are something sorely missing as well.

Sent you an email Mark.

Whelp, I did it. I took the NPM SCP exam and passed. I figured I can't truly pass judgement on the new SCP program until I've experienced it. This time next year when the renewal is due, I'll be able to make a sound decision if the $200/year is truly worth it. Not bragging but, just for reference I briefly went over the…

Not sure if you've already seen this but, there's alot of good info in there. Solarwinds Filter Syntax Guide (PDF)

mezdem, Did you ever figure this out? Can anyone chime in on this?
-
Any chance you can provide a screenshot to illustrate what you mean?
-
I'm also evaluating the product and I have this question as well. I'm about to pull the trigger on a UTX license and this could be a make or break topic for that.
-
OK, I figured it out. After never having touched SQL in my life, I Google taught myself it and did a lot of experimenting with queries in the Solarwinds "Database Manager" and this is what I came up with. A little background first. We use Groups (aka Containers) in NPM for representing physical locations (I've dubbed "Site…

I created a feature request for this here: Not sure why group summary views were left out of the variable game
-
Also, it's very lonely talking to yourself.
-
So, I've come to the conclusion that the group view pages don't support the same custom property variables that the node view pages do. I'm still not sure what variables are supported aside from the ${Caption} variable for the group name.

Bump. Any ideas on this?
-
I'm not aware of any way of doing this but, that doesn't mean it's impossible. Perhaps cobrien could shed some light on this?
-
thegreateebzies, forgive me if I missed it. I searched and couldn't find any. Is there an official THWACK posting concerning the theme change?
-
Just noticed this too. I think it is a nice upgrade from the previous look but, personally I prefer dark or black themes. A little easier on the eyes in my opinion.
-
I'm in! Thanks marcoswithanoh, thegreateebzies, and jvb for your rapid assistance!

Hi Bill, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong but, I believe that technically any device that allows it's config to be downloaded over SSH or Telnet is supported. Out of the box, there are a variety of device templates included to allow automatic config downloads. If you find that a device you'd like to download a…

I'm down. PM me if you haven't already made arrangements.

I'm resurrecting this question. Does anyone have any input on how to do this?
-
cal.smith, are there any updates on providing more information on the benefits of what the new SCP entail? I think I can accurately say the consensus is overwhelming negative towards the new SCP from the THWACK community, mainly around the $200/year price point. Are there plans to lower this amount or maybe make it $200…

I'll start things out. Here's my review for the "THWACK Notebook" (Unfortunately out of stock as of this writing ) The notebook seems to be a "JournalBook Ambassador" https://www.journalbooks.com/products/24-hour/24-hour-journals/ambassador-journal/product/990 It's 5.5" x 8.25" with 80 pages. There's a satin ribbon…

ding, Are there any updates on this? Are you still looking for feedback?

Here are the requirements for WMI: WMI requirements - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support And SNMP requirements: SNMP requirements for monitored devices - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

thegreateebzies, Any idea where we can find the end of day survey link? The link that was in the "green box" was for the previous session for 250 THWACK points.
