  • Don Will custom MIBs be included in v8? Is there an ETA for v8? Thanks Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
  • As far as I can see you can't, the only available MIBS are the ones that Solarwinds have made available through the Custom Poller. HTH Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
  • I've managed to get the Cirus Configs to work but I'm having problems getting the Cirrus Reports to work. I've logged a call with support and waiting for them to get back to me. It will be so much better once the next version of Orions released and has the Cirrus funtionality built in. Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim…
  • I've had exactly the same issue with the Cisco Airespace Controllers, I've got a call logged with support. Like yourself we are only on the trial to see whether it's worth purchasing. Hopefully they can get it working as it will be great to have all monitoring and alerting in one place. Jon IT Infrastructure Manager…
  • We've started using Crystal Reports which is so much more flexible than what Orion currently offers and includes graphing which is what our board was looking for, if only Solarwinds would update report writer to include the Crystal engine then I think that would give us great reports and graphs. Jon IT Infrastructure…
  • Troy It's something I'm also lookingat doing, I've tested it locally and it seems to work well but haven't got as far as testing over the WAN yet. What I was going to do was have a couple of spare switches put at the other end of our WAN connections and test it a few times that way and see how it goes. Jon IT…
  •  Josh Just been configuring our 6509's and its the same behaviour on them no port information for layer 2 traffic. Jon
  • How about some way of automating the process that for instance you have a policy configured and within Cirrus theres an option to run the policy against the configs that are being downloaded at the time and for a report to be e-mailed out with a list of failures.
  • I noticed this today some backups work and some don't but it's not the same switches every night it seems random. I've logged a call with support to see what they say, I'll let you know when I hear anything. Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
  • We have seen the same with our 2960's and 3560's in both Orion (v7.8.5) and Cirrus (v3.5.1) and it's due to a change in the Cisco MIBs see below. You can reference this with a custom MIB but I don't know whether it would be possible for Solarwinds to add an OID entry for Model name for 3560's and 2960's. It causes us…
  • I've been looking at App monitoring software lately and as you said NetQos is pricey, the product I am probably going to be implementing is NETIQ Appmanager. It does app monitoring right down to specfic scripts for apps ie monitoring citrix servers and connections stats and Exchange etc. Thanks Jon IT Infrastructure…
  • We currently run IPMonitor alongside Orion SLX and decided on IPMonitor over AM for the following reasons DNS montioring AD monitoring Exchange monitoring - realtime mail rtt and also internal subsystems SQL monitoring - realtime SQL transaction monitor and also internal subsystems (although I haven't got a full handle on…
  • Network_Guru, That was the exact way I was going to do it until I was informed that the different departments need access to each others menu bars and it wasn't good enough for them to either keep logging in and out again or have multiple pages open. So the multi-tab was the best solution. Thanks Jon IT Infrastructure…
  • What I would Ideally like is a tab for the Network Support, one for Applications Support, one for Server Support and on for PACS\RIS. So these tabs can then have specifics for each speciality and default tab can have general alerts, reports etc on it. Is it possible to restrict by user access to a tab for instance could I…
  • It would suggest that the distinct lack of feedback from Solarwinds answers the question for us and Toolsets is not being actively developed.
  • So we've just renewed all our support contracts for Solarwinds and this will be the last time we renew our Toolsets support if we go another year without any major updates to the product, its bad enough we've gone 1 year but questions will be asked if this goes on for another year. I think Solarwinds have found that…
  • We've just purchased ISE to both replace ACS and use for Wired 802.1x. The cost for us was £90k for 10,000 licenses of both base and profiling and this includes 16 days consultancy and all PM.
  • Some sort of answer would be good as our renewals coming up in a few months and if Toolsets is not being actively developed then we'll drop our maintenance contract for it.
  • Just uploaded a MIB walk and Putty output from our Nexus 5672.
  • If you log into your IPMonitor or Solarwinds accounts you can build a custom MIB database to include any specific manufactures you require. HTH
  • Will this functionality also be part of Orion so we have a single user interface and could the privilages be based on an Orion user, so for instance an Orion admin would get Cirrus Admin rights and any other user would get either web or privileged rights? Thanks Jon
  • Thanks Ceclark IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
  • I know I'm asking a bit of a thickie question but how can I change the size of the number of sites down text? Thanks Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
  • Great script, is it possible to take it one step further and have a hyperlink off the resource to a list of down nodes. I've got it setup to tells us how many nodes are down at each site and it would be nice if you could click on a link to a list of those nodes at the particluar site? Any help would be much appreciate.…
  • I would also like to put my voice forward to see if WLC and LWAPP will be supported we currently have 175 LWAPP AP's and that's growing month on month.
  • Definitely not the horror of the 11.5 upgrade and we had major issues with the 11.5 upgrade so it took some convincing to upgrade to v12.
  • I upgrade this morning and while it looks a lot better I've also got a couple of gripes, I haven't noticed the interface slow down yet as I'm only have 74 monitors currently but that will grow. 1.I'm quite new to the product so having the help drop down underneath the item your looking at was great now I have to switch…
  • Mithrilhall I would also be interested in seeing your code for this custom page, as it would give me a strting point on further customisation? E-mail me @ jonathanchill@tiscali.co.uk Thanks in advance Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
  • I've talked to solarwinds support and because the 4400, 4050, 4060 don't support a cli it's a menu based system then it's very difficult to use with Cirrus. HTH Jon IT Infrastructure Manager Pilgrim Hospital UK
