I reached out to Support on this (Case #02084720), as I want to upgrade to 2026.1 Legacy UI for the security fixes, but need SAML. Here's what they said: "Thank you for reaching out to SolarWinds Technical Support. My name is Roschelle, and I will be working on this case with you. This is a quick note to inform you that I…

@Avadhut.Deshpande, can you answer my original question about what versions of macOS are supported for 2026.1 (Legacy Interface)? If it doesn't yet support anything beyond 10.15 (Catalina), does the mention in the Release Notes of Sonoma/Sequoia/Tahoe mean that they will be supported in the next release when the NextGen UI…

Please do this; with standard certs now forcing renewal every year, it's a real PITA to update all of our servers, so we're converting everything over to LetsEncrypt automatically-renewing certs.
-
The new UI framework is reportedly Spring.

Yep, that article that @"shahul.haja" linked to has the solution that they gave me, and it worked perfectly. Sorry for not posting that here sooner! One important caution: make sure that you carefully check out the upgrade path...I think you have to go first to 12.7.5 and then to 12.7.8, you're not supposed to go directly…
-
We've had some issues with 12.7.8, namely WHD basically refuses to email Techs when Save & Email is clicked, whether because the Tech checkbox is checkmarked, or when their email addresses are in the CC or BCC field(s) and they are checkmarked. It's not that WHD thinks it emails them but it doesn't go through...WHD doesn't…
-
Milan, that worked, thanks! I renamed my Tech to be "JohnDLocal" (my LDAP client is just "JohnD") and then I could login as "JohnD' with my Client's LDAP password. So that begs the question: if the Email-based authentication has the ability to function correctly when my Tech and linked-Client have the same email address,…
-
Just coincidentally, we were thinking about switching to the Email Address authentication instead of User Name anyway, because we originally matched WHD to our old email system that used User Name, but now we're on O365 that uses Email Address. So I did a test and changed WHD over to Email Address authentication and…

riv_se et al, Just got down with Tech Support and we got this resolved. Your hint above actually nailed the issue, but I didn't fully get what you were saying at the time. My reply of September also hints at my mistake, but I didn't pick that up until now. The tricky part is that OS X behaves differently than Windows when…
-
riv_se, Good hint, but my zip file was created properly, using the "whd-web" folder as the root folder of the zip file, not the temp dir. I'm engaging with Solarwinds support on this now and hopefully they'll be able to figure out where things are going awry. I'll follow up here with the resolution.

Sorry, Marek, no go. I tried the built-in "Compress" functionality that OS X provides (by right-clicking the folder and choosing "Compress <filename>" from the contextual menu) to re-zip the file but the exact same thing happens. I suspected that this would be the case, because there should be no functional differences…

There's likely a default expiration policy (probably 30 days) for deleted items on your Exchange server, so they should respect that policy. But you can verify it by looking at the policy on that Deleted Items folder to make sure, and apply it manually if it's not already there.
-
Yes, I can confirm the same issue: * Logged into my Tech (Admin) account with username "JohnD" * Uncheckmarked LDAP on my Tech account * Set a password (different from my LDAP password) for my Tech account * Confirmed that my Tech account was linked to my LDAP Client account * Logged out * Attempted to login as…

Actually, iklimchuk, that's not accurate when you're dealing with directories with permissions that require authentication. In that case, OS X will indeed replace the entire target directory with the source being copied, which will destroy the target and replace it with the source. They will not be merged. You can see in…

Thanks for your reply, Peter; good to know that this process will be getting less of a pain going forward. In the meantime, however, it's been a week without any updates here and no offline contact....is there any progress on this? We'd really like to get our push notifications working, since it's going on a month without…

I found a workaround for this issue in my environment; not sure if it's applicable more generally for other mailservers that might trigger this WHD issue, but it worked to resolve the issue here. We had originally been on a non-Exchange email system when we implemented WHD (and POP3 worked fine with that mailserver, no…

If this is the case, why does the script clear the LDAP flag? Why not just generate a new local password, but leave the LDAP flag in place? This hotfix is very badly explained/documented. It says nothing official about "two or more LDAP connectons" and there doesn't seem to be any reason to disable LDAP in the script if…

The instructions in the download are still wrong, and as user "adamc" noted above, are very dangerous: you will indeed blow away your WHD install if you follow them! The problem is that whoever is writing the instructions is writing them with only a knowledge of how Windows works, and is seemingly ignorant of Mac OS X. In…

Just sadly noting that this silly and annoying issue is still happening in v12.2....
-
Sorry, should have mentioned that: Mac OS X 10.10.5. But it's not yet clear whether it's related to the OS or some internal cross-platform WHD thing (which triggers these backups), so I'd suggest checking out your backups regardless of platform to ensure that you're not getting bitten by this one.
-
You're correct, thanks! It only allows updates via email, so we still have CC'd users clicking on the web links and being denied access, but at least we can explain to them this workaround. It's ok as a workaround, but it should be easy enough to permit CC'd users to put Notes into the tickets if they're in the CC…

This cert has now expired (July 6, 2016). The old one is the only one in my Downloads in Support. Where's the new one?
-
<rant> First: considering that this task needs to be done regularly as the cert expires, you guys really need to make it something that is easily installed via the WHD web interface, or at worst using a one-step updater app run on the server box that does it all for you. All this .jar renaming and unzipping and rezipping…

I run a lot of macOS servers, including WHD, and I face the same situation with many vendors, where support isn't open on nights and weekends, but that's when we want to do the upgrade for minimal impact on the users. I don't suggest the "clean install" scenario that you mention, unless it just won't work any other way,…

Looks like I didn't follow up on the workaround for this bug here in the forums back in September, sorry about that. I'm following up now because the 12.5.0 installer re-introduces this bug (they said back in September that they were going to fix it in the next installer...apparently they didn't, or didn't fix it right).…

I'm still seeing this ancient issue as well. I'm disappointed that it's now over two years and v12.5 and this issue is still happening. If it's something that has to wait on the larger UI update that's coming, then so be it, but let us know so that we know there's light at the end of the tunnel.
-
I'd love to see this feature too.....we're having a hard time with this issue in some of our departments, and there doesn't seem to be any good solution for it right now.
