Before and after, this is what I did for fun during Sysadmin Month
-
Awesome, I finally got connected to the database (had the wrong port). When I try and run the script "UPDATE PREFERENCE SET HOST_PORT=80;" it shows preference does not exist.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I can not seem to connect to the Database t run that script. Just another issue . I did find that the Server DNS Name was wrong so I changed that. It did change the link for the FAQ but added :8081 so it still will not work. I am not sure why I can not connect to the database ( I never…

Yes that would be the case I assume.

Sorry, I misspoke. I have the threshold set to 0 and the connection timeout set to 300. I was getting errors with the connect timeout when it was set to less. I wonder if setting the Advanced E-Mail Properties to this if that would help: mail.smtp.userset=true Makes the mail engine send the 'RSET' command in place of the…

I did try that and ran into issues. So, I did more reasech and found this from the SolarWinds Knowledge Base. The part in red is what made me stop and ask. Integrating DameWare and Web Help Desk DameWare and Web Help Desk integrate natively as of DameWare version 11.1 and Web Help Desk version 12.2. For older versions of…

That box is unchecked, although I hope it IS that easy.

Thank you all for the help. I was able to run the scrip and update the host_port to 80 which fixed my issue . I have plans to upgrade to 12.3 when time permits but for now everything is working. Thanks again and happy Sysadmin Day

More to the story...It appears that the URL for the FAQ is using the server name plus port. How do you change that? If I replace that with the correct starting URL the link works fine. Below are the two links: http://CHCAHelpDesk:8081/helpdesk/WebObjects/Helpdesk.woa/wa/FaqActions/view?faqId=6 Web Help Desk

After much researching I have found a solution to my issue. I found a nice little free email server that I downloaded and setup as a relay to our Office 365. Now when we update a ticket or the users submits a ticket it is almost instantly updated.

So here is what I have: The time out was set to 0 so no change there. I turned off the email on creation, no change there. We are running office 365 for our email. We have a launch date of Jan 5th so would like to make sure it is running as fast as it can when we go live. bknight: If you look in email under options the…

Thanks for the information. I have increased the min/max to 1gb. It seems slowest when submitting a ticket. I did so timed tests and they average around 14 sec to submit and go to the Thank You page. Does that seem normal?
-
I ended up connecting to my SCCM server and that works perfectly. Thanks

Does it connect at all? We have our setup through 365 as well and everyday it has connection issues. It does seem to resolve itself an I have only had to save the settings in the incoming mail accounts section 1/2 dozen times or so since we have brought it into production over a year ago. One another note we are using…
